hey guys just wondering if anyone has insurance through them?

Was it hard to get?

I want to go with them because i can pay monthly, 6 monthly or yearly as 6 monthly would suit me better then yearly ($$$ wise) being the main reason i wanna go through them

Does anyone know a company that would insure me and accept payment 6 monthly

Please note: 18 years old!! all they see if expense wen they look at me

I've had ins with them for a couple of years, although they have repeatedly been slack with the paperwork, they do know what they're on about, and give very good prices.

They do allow monthly payment, with the first payment being 2 months? If I recall (always paid yearly) with 10% Extra for Monthly payments (They may have changed that by now though)

I was able to list all my mods, and specifically list my alloys etc.

They also agreed to a fixed value, rather than book value, although I did have to point out the cost for my extras.

I went with a larger excess to drop the yearly price, which has worked well for me....

Not sure about your age tho.. they didn't used to touch < 20 Y.O. - But times change......

Any insurer will gouge you for your age, it's pretty much unavoidable, but if you pay through the nose for a year, it will drop pretty quickly... and also play the insurers off each other when it comes to renew after a year, and you'll see a good saving...

You just have to take the first big hit, if you want your toy insured!

p.s. AAMI are by a large ammount the cheapest for GreenSlips, when I re-upped this year.... Quite surprising!

quote from just car insurance website

'Does Just Car offer pay by the month insurance? home_title_line.gifshim.gif You may be eligible to pay for your policy in regular instalments by direct debit. We will tell you if you are eligible. When you pay this way, the total premium is higher than we charge for one annual payment, reflecting the higher costs we experience.'

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
