Totally agree, Stick with the line.

I did have to think on it for a bit though as I too have a soft spot for VS clubby's.

The only reason to swap would be for the noisy rumble.

Just take the exhaust off the line.....lol......

one of my closest friends owns a vs senator 215 stroked to 5.7L and hates life.

as soon as my friend gets his full license he'll be changing to turbo cars.. he can't stand v8's anymore.

i was a v8 boy back in the day. i put a deposit on a VQ statesman 5.0L... but cancelled within 3 days and got my liner. i'll never turn back! ;)

pros:

nice for long cruises on the freeway

boys like v8's

cons:

my friend spends $20 a day getting to work and back.. changing gears under 2k rpm

people say R33's are like boats? wait till you drive a holden..

interior has only minor upgrades from the vn/vp

not as customizable as a skyline

engine isn't cooling efficient, rev her out and expect problems

more money spent, less HP/kW gained

girls like turbos

at the end of the day, get what you want!

Thats actually a really clean clubby mate...

However yourskyline would destroy it at the drags and around a track.

The 355 would certainly sounds pureporn!!!!

Id be sticking with the line mate.

I came from the Holden side....and it would take alot for me to go back!!!!

^agree

Mate, i own both a 1966 mustang GT, and a 93 GTR. I have driven r33 gtst's as we have one in the family.

I love my V8 she is not only better looking that the GTR but gives me a buzz nothing else can.

HOWEVER the GTR is a car that goes around corners goes great in a straite line and still is a great looking motor car. (if i had to give one up i would be pulling my hair out, but at the end of the day the mustang would still be in the garage.)

Your r33 is a better looking car than that. And will handle much better and be quicker.

If your sick of the r33 maybe look at a GTR, or go for the v8. Keep in mind they are good for diffent things, V8's are burnout machines the best in the business. They also make cheap power and are much cheaper to buy most parts.

The liner is a better car, i wouldn't be handing over cash ontop of the car.

V8s are great, but thats the wrong car to own if you want a v8.

My 2 cents

In a few years to come....maybe 5 to 10 even earlier....when all the newer model cars have hit the road,,the VS

will look ancient and outdated, everyone will be looking at you as though you are causing all the Worlds

pollution problems.

The Skyline on the other hand is seen by many young and old of today as a iconic vehicle....

having purpose, style and character...having purpose(GTR) but yet being able to be driven daily.

Lets face it.....2 door..coupe..good lines etc etc etc....versus...4 door..sedan..boat shaped.

You are like comparing a track car to a shopping car.

Put them on the 1/4 mile...put them on the track.....skyline looks better..feels better..handles better...

and most of all gets the chicks...lol.

Keep your car...Its the real deal.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
