Hey guys,

Lookin and purchasing a R34 GT-T Manual, and i would like to get a short shifter for it. i wanna get either a C's Shifter or B&M..i was leaning more towards B&M but i cant find any that suit RB25 engines...they all seem to be RB20's. Does B&M make shifters for RB25's? if so anyone got links? feel free to make some suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

oh really..anyone else able to confirm this or does anyone have a RB25 with a B&M RB20 shifter?

No but i do have one with the c's shifter. It works a treat so if you cant find the b&m dont be afraid of the alternative.

hi ive got a rb25 98 mod and ive got a ebay spec short shift best thing ive bought for car for 60 bucks , works awesome

bought one of them for my old r33, and for my friends..was fine in mine, but stuffed up my friends gearbox..the little white pivot ball came off got stuck in the gear box and killed his synchros...also gave heaps of movement when he was in gears.. looking for somethin with alot more quality...too afraid to do it to the Gt-t in case the same thing happens. would be looking at alot more than 2K for a gear box.

  • 2 months later...

I have a 25 short shifter and had to swap the nylon bush for the stock 20 item as it's smaller than the 25 one.

I have a C's btw and it did come with everything needed. I did need to add a spacer in so that the housing clamped tight on the 20 box.. seems like it snout that shifter comes out of could be shorter on a 20 box *shrug*.

I too have a C's shifter, they work awesome but my only complaint is the length of the shifter - it was too short for my liking and it sort of felt like an MR2! I countered this problem by adding a much longer gear knob and now it's wicked.

C's shifter on my 20 box in my 32 with one of those aluminium Nismo knobs is fine, turned out to be roughly the same height as the old stocko shifter w/ shit knob that the last guy who had the car cut an inch or so off the top of the shifter.

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.

    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.

    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
