but why would u want a 6pd as opposed to paddle flappers? seriously? do people think they can change faster then 0.2 seconds and as smoothly? or is it the fanboy thing to want cause all real drivers use them?

i could understand if it came with a farkin 3 speed auto out of a VL ffs.

I had a year with that God forsaken VL auto box-o-shit... I would've rather been hung-drawn and quartered, then forced to wear a barbed wire G-string for all eternity...

I've never seen or used a crappier 'box' in my life, I could've designed a better one with a dozen empty tuna cans, polly pipe, nail clippers, a tub of mobile oil, and pin-ball machine parts....

I wasn't a big fan of the prototype but I must admit I do like the outcome of the new GTR. Still a shame that it just doesn't seem aggresive like the R32/R33/R34 but times are changing and I think nissan is onto a good thing. I wonder if I can take one for a test drive even though I would never be able to afford just the bonnet.

simple things like cosmetic looks will no doubt be the first to be altered by bodykits and such, so if nissan doesn't make it look "tough" in standard form, then it can be changed. That said, for some reason the toughest looking R32, R33 and R34 GTR's have all been standard Nissan V-Spec or Nismo editions.

reminds me of a jeep wrangler interior... esp those vents and HUD.

Talk about information overload though... all those gauges and buttons... and guys never read the instruction manual so it'll be a month of windscreen wipers goin on when you want to change the track on your CD.

I 100% agree, the Nismo kits are just tuff and if the GTR ever comes with an option like that so called "Evolution" it would be one SEXY car! I can't wait to see what Nismo do to this thing :rolleyes:

I would be happy with DSG any day. Not sure how many of you have never missed a gear on the race track, but I sure have.

Yeh, i have missed gears, and i understand its application in a race car. But for me its a road car and part of that is pushing pedals and rowing up and down the gears. I have only had brief drives of paddle shift cars and they are ok but it sucks coming down the free off ramp and just puching a paddle rather then doing all the work yourself.

To me its about fun....just like i used to think havign a sequential manual woudl be cool until i was in a car with one and realised how big a pain in the ass it was. To me its a shame the same companyy that came up with the 240Z, well i was hoping its styling would be better.

That all said the price makes it attractive

I'd like to take this opportunity to start the rumour that VR stands for "Very Racy"... i'm sick and tired of shmucks thinking RB stands for "Race Bred"... so this is my revenge.

l agree about the DSG thing I reckon a manual would be more fun if not a little slower...

but I guess I'll just have to keep the 32 and have the new one aswell.....

you can still bash the gear selector up and down like a sequential, no clutch pedal.

from the GTR website;

Fully automatic shifting or full sequential manual control via gearshift or steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!

    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
