i got quoted $200 for my side skirts which doesnt sound very competitively priced, especially for acrylic paint.

i'll be buying my own paint gun and doing it myself.

thats not bad at all, its costing me $350 to get my front bar fitted with a nismo lip and then resprayed.

hey Joe $200 is ok man... it will cost you more to buy ur own gun and compressor.. plus it wont be easy to spray if you havent done it before... also you will need a pretty good gun, not s cheapo, makes a huge difference.

$200 is good for a front bar, sideskirts are alot easier to do.

i have done some spray work before and it was using a shit spray gun. i've got a decent enough compressor to get the job done too.

all i need is a spray gun which i can borrow off a mate, or worst case i can buy one for $100, and the paints and clear which will cost me $50. i've got a little bit of primer left over from my car laying around somewhere.

resprays are even easier/quicker to do. it shouldnt cost THAT much just for a respray.

i think im just used to getting all my stuff done for cheap.

yeh i used to do all that kind of stuff myself.. from fibre glass repairs to respray... but not on the GTR, i cant and wont lol..

$200 for a front bar is not bad, iv seen places do them for as low as $185 but thats it.. side skirts shud be around the same.

sam, $350 for all that is a little harsh man.. shudnt cost u more then $250 for a lip install and spray.

if i had your car, mass... i wouldn't either. lol

I'm going to give my roof a crack in a few weeks to repair all the little dents and spray it black. If i stuff it up, it'll all add to this 'drifter' look I've got going.

hahaha yeh why not liz...

Man i have to do the oil in the GTR and i cant be stuffed. Its so annoying having the front undertray, the car is a little low, so i cant be stuffed trying to jack it up to get to the sump bolt. Then there is the stupid oil filter.. hahaha im getting powerplay to do the oil change man im lazy... I bought HKS front pipes too, and again not putting them on myself.. i shud start to do this stuff again but yeh when u own a GTR then u become more of a "has to be done right" kind of person which then means get someone to do it for you. slightly off topic but meh... no more from me.

f**k doing all that to save yourself $50..

pay $50 more and you get a professional job done for you..

you completely missed the point. for $200 i could have all the paints and equipment which will let me do more than just my side skirts. i'll be able to do my bonnet, rear bar and my new front bar when i get it.

i painted half of my car so i know what im doing, i just dont have a gun.

i say do it yourself

at least then, when you've got harder stuff that needs doing! you'll be more confident in doing that yourself too!

yeah thats it. at the end of the day its theyre just a set of skirts. rubbing it back isnt hard, and yellow is a pretty forgiving colour.

its more to do with the fitting and polyeurotheyning (however you spell it) onto the front bar. Hes also doing a couple of little touch ups around the car...if it was just a respray he said it would be around 150-200...

i love it how people expect tradesmen to work for f**k all

just because we don't work in an office and wear cute suits doesnt mean we dont deserve to be paid decent money

id love to see some of the tight arses on here come up with a finish half as good as Louie does.

when someone says, 'he looks after sau people' and give the same prices as everyone else then what do you expect us to say?

$200 for a front bar? D.E.A.L.!

That was louie who quoted that right? Or someone else? I need front slots added to a gtr bar and then sprayed white with the FMIC section remaining black like factory

well back to topic.....

anyone here had work done at Xclusive? any pics of their work???

Malcolm's car was done by Louie - his car is one of the cleanest Skylines in Australia, and it's all gotta start somewhere. Check out the latest issue of HPI magazine (issue 86, also with the article on the Wakefield Park day) to see it for yourself.

you need to get your engine fixed .......before anything else!!!1

ease up people, a lot of us here are tight asses and got other things to pay for, no need to start insulting everyone. I'm a tight ass when it comes to things I can do. But I'll gladly leave it to the experts when it comes to things I have no clue on. Some people might be good with their hands and wonder why they are paying XXX to get it done professionally when they can borrow some tools and get it done at a quarter the price.

I think the point here has been missed. Sure you can do it cheaper yourself but there is no way the job you do will be anywhere near the quality of Louies. What you get with him is genuine top quality work at a good price. Comparing Louie to a home job is an insult to him.

As for:

and watch what you say to me.

It's aggressive and uncalled for. Keep it to yourself or warnings will be handed out.

    • What an awesome idea to fit the facelift Lamborghini Diablo headlights. They are a perfect fit!
    • An update regarding the registration with the DVLA I sent off the paperwork the day after I collected the car from the port, two weeks later it was all returned with a letter explaining they have rejected the application. This was because the cheque was £20 short for the road tax (I used a price list I found online). Nevermind it is what it is, it was sent back to them the following day with a new cheque. Fast forward another 2 weeks or so, I called them for an update to be told it had been rejected. Yesterday (16th September) I received the documents back along with another letter, this time it was because I didn't put an X in one box on the V750 (personalised number plate certificate), which declared that I had the rights to the personalised number plate. Why this wasn't mentioned in the first rejection letter, I don't know, but it could have saved this headache. The documents were sent back today, so fingers crossed third times a charm and it'll FINALLY be registered on the road just in time for the bad weather (woohoo!) To cheer myself up I lowered the front 25mm, was sick of seeing it sit like a monster truck. No idea how much clearance I'll have getting on and off the driveway, I'll worry about that when I can actually drive it
    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
    • GT-R clearly the better choice! The 300 is certainly not insaly fast but has a decent amount of poke. Does a nice little drift around the corners with a decent amount of throttle. It's VERY predictable in a slide too.  Feels so progressive! People probably presume there's a 25 year old driving it based on my behaviour this week! 🤣
