Ferrodo Might Not Agree Hanky Purple Widget 27

OK now that i have your attention ive fitted some ferrodo's 4000s (i think) to the front of my gtst and they are hopeless.

I've lost a ton of braking power and they just dont seem to pull the car up at all.

The guy at repco said they are dustless and wont make the wheels look poo and preform really well.

After bedding them in and following the proper procedure they seem to just skate across the disc itself instead of biting hard.

When i washed the car the rotors turned a urine yellow colour which looks like its from the pads and the dust.

The wheels also look horrible even just after like 2 weeks of the new pads.

Has anyone used these ferrodos and found them to be poo ?

I run the DS2500's and find them very grabby and noisy on cold but awesome once they have some heat in them.

I think Danrex upgraded to these, maybe check with him (could be wrong).

Did you upgrade the rotors too or just the pads? :)

i used to used freddo ages ago in my previous car and ye agree worst pads EVER. i use Bendix ultimates after that and they are awesome. think they go for $120 for fronts and $90 for the rears and they work a treat. putting them in my skyline next week.

i've just put rb74 in the front and C2 (i think?) on the rears. never had any different to OEM but they are good enough for the mo. havent had a chance to give them a thrash yet. will get back with results

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
