How much was the car?

well i got it from a car import yard so it cost abit more than private importing, and i had it checked to see if it was wound back by them no scratches not any thing wrong at all with it either, it was at $21,500 but got it down to $19,000 on roads and all, surprisingly the skyline is cheaper to insure with justcar insurance than a Honda civic... with justcar,. wat the hell is the go there, the civic was $1600 a year and this is $1200

Hi mate

really nice mate . . rims look cool - is it definately a 98 because i think all the 98's were 40th anniversary models?

yeah it is, last batch of the R33 series 2's, 1998 there are also R34's made in 1998 like my bosses 1 or maybe the 4 doors were 40th anniversary but my grill is allot diffrent. dident get any pix from strait on soz

Congrats on the new car matey...I'm sure you'll get many years driving pleasure from it.

All you need now is a body kit... I suggest you get a TRUST GT-R front bar, Nismo Side Skirts, GT-R pods for the back (no need for new bar) and chuck a Jun R33 Wing on... fork out like another $3,500 and all of the above plus some extra goodies will be on your way.

Good luck... looks very clean.

Yeah JustCar's the best, I got only 3rd Party for $400.

I think the only other insurance company to insure skylines are either commbank or NRMA.

I got quoted like $2500 by one of them for comprehensive.

I was like yeah, I'm going to pay that ... cya later.

and this was for my 96 S2 which I bought for $10,500 :D

yeah justcar was good about mine because i was with amy first off and thats there sister company. and i fully own mine no bank loan or any thing they put me to rating 2, so 1200 no mods. 1370 with exhaust and havent told them about the other mods yet ^^ but i will soon

ha same I haven't told them about the exhaust, FMIC, wheels or bodykit I put onto it

Your car looks wicked mate, i agree with Spunky Monkey with the Body kit. but still, it looks good

Thats an awesomely clean series 2 you have their mate. I disagree with the other guys and recommend that you leave the factory kit as is. All it needs is to be lowered a little with coilovers or the Sydneykid Bilstein group buy and it will look tops and handle better too.

Aftermarket bodykits look rice and attract cops. Enjoy the car mate, they are great fun, just need to do the obligatory bolt on mods and you will have a car that will put a continuing smile on your dial :)

You've got a Nismo factory option grille

I agree with swink, leave the factory kit.... lower it perhaps, see Sydneykids R33 Bilstein groupbuy in the for sale section.

and Maybe tint the windows cos it's summer you'll wanna save that nice interior :)

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
