I need to fit a set for a r32 gtr.

i was looking at going with a set et streets radials but then it struck me, i am going to need the traction if i wish to run 8's.

mt drags only come in 15 and smaller so new rims are a must, anyone car to comment on width/size and backspacing that will clear gtr std brakes.

next what size slick is optimal without having to start modifying fenders more then just rolling.

thanks :O

You do know that quite a few cars have run 8's on drag radials? More grip will just add to the driveline stresses in a (4WD) drag car. 255/50/16 drag radials on the standard R32 GTR wheels are an unbeatable combination.

i dont agree with this statement.

drag radials are much harder on driveline components than slicks. due to the limited side wall flex.

driving on slicks are like driving on two big cushions. the extra side wall flexing takes a lot of stress off the drive line.

this is evident with the amount of guys breaking drivelines in their supra's in the states on radials when guys on slicks arent breaking those same components.

last meeting if smashed my planetary gears in my transmission when changing into second gear. the change from first to second is far less harsh with the slicks on than the radials.

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
