Hi guys,

I'm at the stage where I'm in a position where I have to sell my car due to financial reasons.

I'm asking for $16,000 - do you think that is reasonable for my R33 GtsT?

So here are some details

1996 R33 S2 GTS-T

98,000+ km

Tein coilovers

18" Work emotion wheels

Turbo back exhaust

Splitfire coilpacks

Pictures are here on members rides (scroll down abit)

If its still as clean and in good condition as in the pictures you posted I think its a good price to be asking with such low Km and modifications, thats what I paid for mine a couple of months ago.

If you need or want to get rid of the Work CR Kai's before you sell the car PM me and I'll probably buy them depending on condition.

There is someone here in Canberra who travels to Autostyle in Sydney to do their engineering... AutoStyle said they would let me get it done for what it costs them (it was a car I was looking at in their shop) and I thought they said about $500/$550. They would normally put mark-up on that if it wasn't one of their cars.

They didn't give me a name of the guy down here, but if someone knows who he is, it might be worth a try. You could always call them and ask who they use for engineering.

My brother had to get an engineer cirt for his coilovers just recently. Ray at Canberra Motorworks did it, I think it cost him around $350. I'm pretty sure the price varies depending on your mods and how much work the engineer has to do. I might be wrong though.

cool thanks guys! I'm only asking because my old man wants to get a ute, but I want him to get one of these bad boys!

I can only assume that these aren't straight off the showroom floor, so they would have to be engineered to be 20ft off the ground.

I dont want him to if it causes him all the grief of DICKSon.

I contacted the seller of the above testosterone filled hilux and asked whether or not it came with an engineer's certificate.

The reply was:

No she doesn't have an engineers certificate. You just need to take her to

an NRMA and they will certify her for the modifications.

Ta

The car is currently in NSW, so I will have to have it inspected before putting it in my name - right?

..now I don't know how to take that. Does that mean that a certificate isn't required, but NRMA will provide something that I can show for the inspection? Or regardless of what NRMA can certify, anything modified will need an engineer's certificate?

Hmm.. pondering. Any assistance will be awesomeness.

Haha yea finally finished uni for the year neway.

I would buy if off you, if only someone would buy myne for 16 grand lol

Sucks your selling. Hilux aye? I so wanted to buy a reasonably new hilux and raise it with massive wheels.

    • This car has run before on this z32 ecu can get the part number for you, I have tried with no AFM it didn’t change anything, I compression tested today 140-150 across all 6 cylinders, also set fuel pressure to 43psi. The only weird thing was cylinder 1 plug was black and fouled other 5 cylinders were just wet with fuel. Spun cas by hand and confirmed injectors are clicking

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
