Nothing wrong with a PFC at all, it was just an example.

Not sure where you get your info from - a stock clutch will not handle 300rwkw.

Brakes wont perform that well (in my eyes)

Not a chance in the world.

LOL Ash. Was just about to reply that in regards to the stock clutch. Once at 200+ rwkw, your stock clutch will be slipping like mad. Be it 300 rwkw.

Power FC will probably be the most value for money aftermarket ECU to be installed into your car. At 300rwkw, i'll choose the PFC over a remapped ECU for sure.

im sure the budget is bit blown for the brakes side of things, decent set of slotted and good pads ebc red or better out there will set up at bout 1100 MAX unless your doing track work maybe 2g is not under estimated, oh the dif it can handle that power and been proven too, ill agree with the 8g rebuild as an average depending what parts and who you get it done by 15g is around the usual expectancy price to be looking at, not including all the little things that happen along the way.

Could agree more with do it slowly, and work your way up to it, oh and anything on or over 300rwkws is a bit overkill for the street, im sitting now on 265 rwkw and its plenty to live with and be happy with. oh runnining total so far is 11.5g mind you turbo setup alone was just short of 3.5 and rebuild short of 6 so gives you an idea

Cheers

I've got stock brakes & diff too as well, no dramas at all. Do you mean 15k in regards to everything, because as I said my engine (block) cost me 7k?

heheh as soon as I did my fmic and full exhaust my standard clutch went!!

did I have over 300rwkw then? :D

No but you probably enjoyed the bit of extra power to much lol :P

I bought my Gts-t not long ago, it's making 195kw@wheels, I found it's pretty hard to handle in the wet, I had a FTO before, quite similar situation as you, move from a FWD to a RWD, believe me 200rwkw is enough for you to have fun...

Ok well maybe i am underestimating how much power 300 kw really is. so what i was thinking is that i would start with and intercooler, ecu, boost controller and maybe a bigger turbo. would u suggest maybe putting in bigger injectors at this point in time or would stock ones do for a while until i get use to more juice. Then start to work my way up to 250 depending on what i wanna do and my budget of course.

I had 270rwkw for a while, was plenty for street.

I then went over 350rwkw.... the car basically became useless :P

start with full zorst, boost cont, FMIC, pod/panel, and piggyback fuel controller or new computer...

new turbo later

I havent had a proper look under the car but when u mentioned zorst your talking about exhaust right. well ive got a 3" cat back with an 5" tip. Now i dont know about off the turbo and to the cat but im guesing it would all be 3". but what would u suggest????

Mate..

TRUST ME!

I went from a 1.6L Pulsar to an NA 2.5L.. pushing about 105kw at the wheels. Its an r32 GTS4 weighing ~1400kg.. thats more than ur GTST

the difference in that jump is significant!.. learn to use and abuse the power first!.. Learn how and when the engine works best.. and learn how to minipulate the car to extract the most out of the engine! Learn that, and you'll see how quick your car can be!

It takes a while, and yes it more boring than just automatically having 300kw. But once you learn it, you will be able to minipulate the car in a whole new way and you'll be surprised the diffrence once you know this information.

Hit up a track day, skid pan, drift day. Learn where your power band is, learn how to transfer the weight around, learn how to extract the full potential out of the engine.. then.. and only then.. should you think about power increase mate..

300kw is a shit load of power!.. as said before.. give it a year.. or at least 6 months if your motivated to LEARN (not drive like a maniac and speed!).. then think about 220kw - 250kw.. modify all aspects of the car. Responce, brakes, suspention, cooling.. make the car "feel" better.. the.. as before.. learn the car.. better your skills so on.. so forth.. then go for 300kw..

thats just my 2c

lol an rb25de is nothing to brag about, harden up mate

lol.. there you go.. congrats, you understood NOTHING of what I said..

Its got NOTHING to do with the car you drive.. I know blokes that drive Mazda 2's that are quicker than hardcore 86's and workes 350's through thr twisties..

Power has next to NOTHING to do with drive skill

The main point for what he said is the progressive torque and power increase, learn it get use to it then progress higher. The smart way. that way the time he gets there he will not only have the nessessary skills but the nessessary supporting safety ie suspension and brakes when he gets there... i think i got it right
