That would have been me

What were you driving? I Saw a fair few Skylines today... There was a white 33 up the sunny coast, also a silver one with blue stripes (ala 'The Fast and the Fluroescent' style), along with many that looked to be heading back from the Nissan cruise on Bribie (i was heading up the coast as they were heading back down south)

i was driving the white R33 gtst with the plates (85URK) i saw u driving on your own and with another blue 32. the silver one was nismo33 on here. he doesnt come on that much though. yeah there were a few skylines out yesterday i seen atleast 15 i reckon on my travels.

ah!

i saw you both times.... The first time (when i was with the Blue R32 GTR... who is 'Dynamix' on here... i was on my way to buy my new R32 GTR Drivers seat off him :()

2nd time i was on my way to Autobarn at Maroochydore to get some interior cleaner to clean it up, lol

I didn't see the plates either time, and I didnt bother waving, as i thought i'd be snobbed like every other time i wave at a skyline owner, lol

you guys are lucky you only got on the highway at the Bribie turnoff... heading back from the Sunshine Coast, it was stop start from the Ettamogah Pub, to the Bribie turnoff... what is normally about a 35 minute trip, turned into a 2 hour trip... NOT HAPPY JAN...

I probably saw you too bunta :D

fair enuf. your plates are hard to make out when u are driving by, but i managed to see them. yeah i know mat, i used to go to school with him. hes selling the gtr isnt he??

lets start a thread in there stating "WHY SKYLINE'S ARE THE BEST" then we will start it off by posting reasons why they are awesome. like they beat the v8's at bathurst. etc etc

I like them, because they are slower than cefiros :D

Saw a White line with large "drift king" stickers on the sides at Milton today. I gave the thumbs up but you looked too busy driving. I was walking up Railway tce.

Cheers

Chris

Hey all I own a white R33 Gts-t (fresh import) has 3 piece deep dsh white kakimoto rims, big loud exhaust, has "monkey" stickers on side back windows, front bar, has been lowered a bit and still has standard wing.

I live round Mt Gravatt way, absolutly love the car and plan on working it to the extreme when funds permit.

Anyone see a white skyline pulled off on the side of the gateway motorway tonight with the hazard lights on?

If so, that was me!

I counted 5 skylines go past, and not 1, nor any other car, bothered to stop to help... f**kers....

No sorry man didnt, i drove south from toombul around 9:30ish, wouldn been able to help to much yet anyway my Skyline knowledge at the moment is limited but growing fast, desperatly want a copy of the workshop book, but think $250 for 1 is a joke considering i bought a commonwhore 1 for $30.

What hap to ur car anyway?

Nasty, did that cause the rear wheel to jus freely turn?. I am looking into removing my rear wheel steer i dont like the way it jumps around when sliding or jus spinning it off the line.

Hope it don cost to much for u to fix.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
