Im new here too mate, have to meet up. However i dont feel I am worthy of cruising with a GTR, have four door myself.

I live up in Canungra, so am keen to get out and about

I dont know what planet you guys are on but I'm on the coast too and it seems now everywhere I look I see one.. :D

Just to clarify, I never said that I have not seen any, I couldnt agree with you more, there are heaps. But since i live in Canungra dont get much chance to meet any of them.

On average I probably see between 10-20 each time i go down the coast

Hey guys just wondering if any of u's live in townsville area?? Own a blue r33 gtst. Always up 4 a chat n bit of cruise action..

Hey mate, bet you bought that car from the parents of Dan at autobarn. He is a good mate of mine, but unfortunately I moved away from Townsville start of this year. Your car there goes pretty hard hey, It had 260kw@wheels but we turned the boost down after it recieved an engine change.

Yeah man i bought it off dans olds ay. Do u own a silver 4dr 33? Dan recons only around 200rwkw now but i'm gonna get it put on dyno soon so i know 4 sure. And to see if i can extract a few more kw at the treads haha.. U eva see a dyno sheet for my car?

Yep mate thats me, two tone silver and dark grey. Yeah was only around 200kw when he sold it but it can do so much better than that. I did some work on it after the engine change as it wasnt idling very well. Is a nice car. I have not seen a dyno sheet but it was running like 18psi of boost when they grenaded their last motor, it should have handled that power but its hard to get good tuning in Townsville. I got all my tuning done with Pete at TMS, was pretty happy with him as after each time on dyno he would come do any road tuning for free. (Unless he just liked the four door that is).

No i moved to gold coast start of the year otherwise i would go cruise with ya!

No offence if u helped tune it but its runnin really average haha. only 12psi for now will get tune when i get my license bak in around 4wks.. fuel delivery from factory injectors was a prob on previous motor wasn't it? what size are rb25 injectors and how much will i gain from gettin them high flowed??

Can TMS tune my ecu? i heard crawfords tuned Link ecu's in townsville?

Hell yeh man ur 33 is a sweet ride!

Thanks for the compliment on the sedan. I fixed his car 6 months ago so god knows what happened since then. I had my Wolf3d V4 plus tuned at TMS, so o belive he should do link too, all you can do is ask. I had a bad experience with crawfords. When i first changed my motor and gearbox i had it tuned there first time and i got 160KW@wheels. Which i was mortified with considering what i had done, they said my cooler was not big enough, could only run 9psi, turbo was too small blah blah blah. The problem was my spark plug gap was too high which i discovered that afternoon. Had it tuned at TMS after i had regapped my plugs and got 209.9K@wheels. So needless to say i never went back.

My injectors are at near max at 220kw@wheels now. So any more than that with stock injectors is pushing it, i believe they are around 350cc, not sure however. Rather than get them hi-flowed probably better off spending a little bit more and get larger ones(then tune it obviously). Scan around E-bay and a few places as sometimes you can get a good buy.

Check out the sedan on the thread at the moment called PROJECT 4 DOOR UNDERWAY AGAIN, ive been polishing stuff and starting to look good.

Good luck with the skyline mate

U run a 1/4 with 220rwkw? Its never ending but plannin on hi-mount manifold, injectors (550cc?) and whacking my cam gears on. chasing around 250-260rwkw but i'll c how it goes..

U must b keen mate i started cleanin engine bay up (wires n shit everywhere!) n its way better now but i'll just leave it neat.. no bling to much wrk!! Thanks 4 ur help man appreciate it i still dont know f all bout skylines bit diff from my old ss haha. Keep up the good wrk on ur 33!

Yeah I ran the 1/4 in 13 flat, with huge traction problems. I may only have 220kw@wheels but I changed diff etc since it used to be non turbo to Kazz 2way Mech LSD with 4.11 diff gears so I gained heaps of torque but made same power on dyno. That was at Townsville so you could imagine my traction issues, with street tyres. My car getting painted within the next couple months, so thats the major work for this year.

250-260kw will be easy for that car with the bigger injectors, you probably wont need cam gears or manifold, but then again, it looks cool, and it all helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Checked out ur PROJECT 4 DOOR thread and DAMN u put some work in on that engine bay! who did the custom wrk to ur intake manifold and how many hrs to polish it? Hell yeh townsville track is crap but it all we got. On the street with 255/40/R17s it just starts spinning when it comes up on boost in 1st and struggles in 2nd too.. I predict big traction probs on strip just hope i at least pull a big MPH! The main reason for wanting to put my cam gears on and get manifold is to get turbo 2 spool earlier!! damn it lags somethin shocking but when it hits....:D

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
