Recommended Posts

Got to my car last night to move it as it was parked in a 4:30-6pm clear way, door was adjar, alarm going off.

No damage to locks or door, didn't take anything, but battery was flat as the door was left ajar and the alarm did not re arm, had to call RACT for a jump start.

WHAT A CROCK of shit, car was goign off all day and not a single person reported it.

F U C K this shit.

thats dodgy hey

ps. glad they didnt actually steal/damage it

dude, that sux! at least it scared them off/prevented them stealing it.

theves are one of my pet hates, just can't understand why they think it is fine for them to do that shit!

sorry to hear man, you still have it though!

Its because no one cares anymore. When someone hears a car alarm go off, no one even thinks about it, its just background noise to them.

Just think, before you had your alarm installed, and you heard someones alarm go off, did you do anything about it?(rhetorical question)

It usually not until someone has had a break in or an experience of a stolen car that they actually take notice of car alarms going off in the background. How many times have you heard an alarm go off in a shopping centre car park and only just vaguely looked in the direction it came from and just kept walking?(rhetorical question)

A lot of us are guilty of it already...including me. But the least someone could do is check or have a look and make sure the cars not getting broken into. We live in a 'I don't care' society with an 'I don't care' attitude. Its to be expected, but it is in no way at all nice. Sad but true.

I feel for ya man. I hope there wasn't too much damage. Even the minor things cost a lot of money to repair like paint & panels. :D

It really is gettin to the point where we mite as well leave our cars at home when we go anywhere!

Your probly lucky that the davey/sandy bay rd corner is as busy as it is, parked anywhere quieter and the alarm mite not hav scared them off.

f*k thieves!!! and Y THE HELL wud u not report it if you heard it, 4 the battery to go flat surely it mustv bn goin so long there would hav even been cops drive past nd hear it.

yEAH I AM GUILTY BUT TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH THE TWO RECENT TIMES I HEARD AN ALARM GOING OFF I STOPED TO HAVE A LOOK, opps sorry caps, and the person was walking to the car to turn it off.

Well the battery was completely dead, nothing left at all so surly it must have been on for a very long time.

  • 2 weeks later...

i bet they were some jealous bogans who wanted to try driving a real car instead of a family sedan. :worship: that sux about the break in man. yeh i keep my eye on mine all the time. if i go to maccas i park it and sit basically in front of it so i can see it. not always easy to do tho i know. we shouldnt need to worry, but the world is full of pri**s who just have no respect for property that isnt theres.

yeah it's getting stupid how relaxed some people are and don't care... like how many times have you been at home and heard to guys alarm go off down the street and just sat there and thought 'that idiot tripped his own alarm hurry up and turn it off'

like they even reacon now that if your being raped you should yell 'fire' rather than 'rape' because apparently fire gets more peoples attention cause it means they could be in danger

You still got the car so thats awesome, the alarm did its job when it counted... But Maybe instead of a Siren there should be a sweet innocent girls voice shouting her fucinkg head off "HELP!! CALL THE FRIKIN POLICE!!! HELP MEEEE!!!" "THERES A FIRE ASWELL!!... IM GETTING RAPED IN THE FIRE!!!! hahaha Then you'll see a response.. Bloody navy seals rock up out of no where jumpin out of trees n shit.

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
