I remember some years back when i had my R31 i was cruisin down south st in canningvale, and an unmarked vx ss pulled up next to me with two guys, they looked my car up and down then gave it a bit, i didnt do anything because i could smell the pork crackling from a mile away. Anyway they floored it put the sirens on so people would get out of their way, then they pulled into the maccas drive thru and turned thr sirens off!!! - I guess the drive thru staff must have dialed 000 and reported the sighting of two underfed hogs...

need i re-iterate now how much i really hate the WAPD.

get a life you morons. i could do the whole "go stop some real crime"

i've ehard these rumours enough to believe them.

and i will say they aren't even stopping "fake" crime anymore, this is CREATING crime.

wankers.

just goes to show how little you know... what was that you said... moron?

Although Australia has no entrapment laws, a court may rule on the reliability of material gained through undercover operations if there is evidence that a defendant has been incited or induced to commit a crime.

Unfortunately what you're saying makes no sense, what if an undercover cop goes up to someone and says, "please sell me some drugs?".. then you sell them to him, you're not going to be let off the hook because the cop encouraged you to sell him some drugs.

Even if a cop eggs you on to race, you chose your own consequences by doing it. The only laws we have are "agent provocateur", which is when you force someone to do something they wouldn't normally do. A cop never holds a gun up to your face and says race me or I'll shoot you. Don't expect to get very far trying to hide behind the excuse "the cop incited me to race".

lol this was in reply to the no entrapment laws comment. Not in regards to using that excuse to get out of a speeding ticket

"Controlled Operations

It is often thought that convictions cannot be obtained by 'entrapment'. In Ridgeway v. Queen the High Court clarified this misconception, rejecting the suggestion that there was a substantive defence of 'entrapment' in the common law,(84) but confirming that evidence obtained by criminal inducement could be ruled inadmissible as a matter of public policy.(85) As a result most jurisdictions passed statutory 'controlled operations' regimes.(86)

Under the Crimes Act 1914 law enforcement officers are protected from civil and criminal liability arising from conduct undertaken in a 'controlled operation' for the prosecution of a 'serious Commonwealth offence'. To be protected, the officer must act in accordance with a controlled operations certificate and must not intentionally induce a person to commit an offence that they would not otherwise have intended to commit. An authorised officer may issue a 'controlled operation' certificate if he or she is satisfied, among other things, that the controlled operation is justified and there are limits or controls on the extent of unlawful activity, possession of illicit goods or harm to others.(87) Controlled operations are subject to some ministerial and parliamentary scrutiny.(88)

'Serious Commonwealth offences' include crimes subject to 3 or more years imprisonment that involve money laundering, armament dealings, espionage, sabotage, threats to national security, misuse of computer or electronic communications and importation of prohibited imports or exportation of prohibited exports. They also include offences subject to 3 or more years imprisonment that involve 'violence' or 'terrorism'.(89)"

i don;t think street racing is a crime? or is it? lol

but its pretty pointless for cops to lure people into breaking the law, when seriously there are so many other things happening in perth that they should be taking care of. they say there is a shortage of cops at night when u call them up...and why? coz they're out racing(and yeh they do actually have a run with ya before they pull u over, i;ve seen it before)

They seem to be there when u don;t need them, and NEVER there when u need them (experienced it so many time with our friends and families having their house/shops/car broken into, the cops have never came to the crime scene within 12hrs, even once where we were suspecting that the theif was still in the freaken house).

When your on the phone to them tell them if they arnt there in 15 mins you will take matters into your own hands.

Was listening to my police scanner one night and a guy said that . . . Cops were there in 10 mins haha

just goes to show how little you know... what was that you said... moron?

i've had enough discrimination against me for owning a modified import vehicle and been let down enough when looking for help to form my own opinions thanks. call me a moron if you will i could care less what you say really?

i get pulled over and harrassed all the time

police come in my house

DISRESPECT MY FAMILY

seriously, if the WAPD wants respect from the public then DO A BETTER JOB. don't give me this do-gooder "oh they do a good job" shit cos they DON'T if they do then why is public morale so low? detectives and officers are awesome, a true pleasure to deal with, every other one i hate and for my own reasons.

regardless this is not a cop hating thread let's get back on topic pls

lol this was in reply to the no entrapment laws comment. Not in regards to using that excuse to get out of a speeding ticket

Ahh ok, my bad - misinterpreted what you were trying to get at.

At least it's on the boards now though for everyone to see, as a lot of people seem to think they can use that excuse.

Police need to ease up on hoons and import drivers and concentrate on the escalating violent crime in Perth. If they don't start fighting the increasingly violent tendancies of some of the population, they may find people will take things into their owns hands in the form of a vigilant squad or some other such group outcry.

Gone are the days when you could safely walk to the shops in the evening, or quite simply, catch a train home. Public Transport is pretty dodgy nowadays and if the authorities aren't careful, frightened civilians will start arming themselves.

I really think they need to worry more about people beating people to death with rocks and star pickets. There have been several incidents in the surrounding suburbs of my house where people have been assaulted with various weapons in their front yards etc.

Speed related car deaths aren't exclusive to modified cars btw, practically any vehicle on the road has the potential to kill people. I will use the same adage as that is used for guns: Cars don't kill people, people kill people.

Edited by bubba
car = speed

modified car = more speed

speed = death

the police are just trying to do what they can to stop people crashing and dying

But funnily enough, it's almost always p platers in their bunkie VLs and VNs trying to race, rarely the imports, in my experience. I'm not saying that the import drivers aren't racing as well, but it's pretty bad for the cops to make the generalisation that the ppl driving the modded cars are going to speed more than a member of the general public. It's a hard call trying to reduce the amount of crashes on the road.

hmm in the defence of public transport i must say the investment in training the government has made for training and supplying Transit guards is exceptional, they do a GREAT job i would feel safe riding a train now taht all trains are equipped with guards and a full network security system,

i just think that yes, the POLICE aren't doing a good job

take for instance... the 18 year old mauri kid that was murdered in a neighbouring suburb of mine two nights ago

that is extreme... i mean think about it... KILLED someone was KILLED in a streetfight between rival gangs!

how long does it take to call the police? SURELY they would have been called?

what about the fights that have been occouring in northbridge lately? where ONE PUNCH DEATHS are occouring? where are they then?

but no... so long as they continue to entice "hoons" into street racing they are doing their job.

but seriously the issue of violent crime goes a lot deeper than police, there is no more public education giving awareness of consequences these days... police can CURE all they want but there isn't enough preventative measures taken to avoid this alltogether

lol@ this thread.

Started by talking about wrx police cars, then to entrapment, then to everyone telling their experience of police enticing people to race on the street, then to violent crimes and the lack of police attendance.

Why is this still going? LOL

ive walked past a pulled over car.... with a fight large enough to here going on litrally the other side of our KFC.... now thats make me crack up.... then within 20 to 30 seconds another cop car pulled up to hold the officers hand while he contnued to book a 70 year old...... since when do 70 year olds require backup support.... or what happened to what really mattered..... the fight behind them.
