As a lot of you know, some of us ACT SAU'ers are BIG supporters of Federal tyres and I am always looking for someone to help promote the product...

Federal Tyres are a seriously under rated product that deserve a lot more exposure ---- Thats why I am STOKED to say that the father of drift and owner of Option magazine - Daijiro Inada has built his new project car and Federal 595 RS is his tyre of choice!

These photo's were taken recently at the 2007 SEMA show in Las Vegas and are out of a recent american tuning magazine, the video was at Tokyo Autosalon 2007.

For those who dont know who Daijiro Inada is... Google him and you will see, he is famous for bringing drift to the world scene along with the drift king Keichi Tsuchiya...

Daijiro also built the original Stream Z which you will know from Gran Turismo 4 - a high speed 350Z capable of over 400kmh...

ONLY THE BEST CHOOSE FEDERAL TYRES!!

Old War Torn has had a real relationship with that 350z, maybe hes found a tyre that wont delaminate?

- Delaminated the rears, spun car at 300 while down shifting in 2003

- Forgot to redline the car in 5th to 6th gearchange loosing time in 2004

- With a new WRX rear end to prevent cambering when the car squated in 2005, forgot instructions and ran off the end of a track in qualifying putting JUN boss Koyama-san in a kneck brace.

JUN and Top Secret built the car, not Daijiro if im not mistaken. He just keeps crashing it

Just another update on Federal Tyres...

The official launch of the new Federal 595RS - R was held in Taiwan recently... (See link)

http://www.driftworks.com/articles/Driftin...-Taiwan,32.html

This new development will be available in Australia soon (probably next year) and is a re-inforced, slightly softer version of the existing 595RS, which means that it will be better for circut racing and hillclimb as it will gather heat quicker, but it will still maintain the consistency and reliability of the 595RS that we know and trust.

For those who need a tyre for drifting it will be better aswell as the carcas construction is stronger meaning less flex in the casing... Note: if you plan on drifting on 595RS-R you will need to have some serious power at the wheels because it is a pretty sticky tyre :P

Attached are some piccies of some drifters from Taiwan and the USA testing the new tyre... Looks good when its smoking!

Enjoy.

Just another quick update guys, girls and Michele... :)

I am very happy to announce!~

We have a new Exclusive Motorsports dealer in Mitchell... A little workshop by the name of TROJAN motorsports.

John and Angelo are now stocking Federal's high performance and motorsports range of tyres and as we all know they are magicians with Skylines, so go see the boys for a deal!

Tell them Mick from Federal sent you

Go Go Daijiro!

Last volume of option I watched had him driving in a D1 car with his head sticking out of the sunroof while the driver belted it around the track :whistling:

Back on topic, I guess I might have to look into a set of these federal doohickies once the rubber i've got at the moment don't stick no more.

I'm pretty impressed with the 595's. I actually feel safe to drive in the wet now...lol

I have not got them to lose traction at all yet.

Thanks, Mick!

We couldn't agree more, we have far better traction with the 595's in the wet than all other tyres we have here put together.

That just seemed like one of those dodgy late night commercials where people get payed to pretend they actually mean what they are saying :) jk

Ill try em out when the Toyos run out.

    • This car has run before on this z32 ecu can get the part number for you, I have tried with no AFM it didn’t change anything, I compression tested today 140-150 across all 6 cylinders, also set fuel pressure to 43psi. The only weird thing was cylinder 1 plug was black and fouled other 5 cylinders were just wet with fuel. Spun cas by hand and confirmed injectors are clicking
    • Since you came here to ask for help, have you thought about answering our questions, that might help us lead you to why it was skipping, or have you given up on getting advice?
    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
