iamhe77 is next (tomorrow)

At least I would have been if my damn Navi ROM had have co-operated...

I do believe that "pv35GT8" is very happy with his though. Thanks for your time though, Rianto.

Will talk again when I have ripped my Navi out and given it a damn good clean and check over...

Yeah Cam... I had a chat with Andy the lens probably need some TLC, most of the time disc cleaner brush is just not enough to clean it.

It's worth to have a map disk always in the drive, as it can reduce the amount of dust gathering over the lens over time when leaving the drive empty.

I now have instructions on how to dissemble the unit and clean the lens of the laser. I will put together instructions tonight and send them to you both.

Cheers

Andy

Cool, thanks Andy.

Look forward to tearing the glovebox out (again) and possibly part of the dash.... no, not really.

excellent. perhaps an inclusion of how to drop the glovebox / tear up dash apart should be included for completeness sake?

Will post up pics on how to rip out the Navi ROM if I get time on the weekend (I can't find it with a quick look in the G35 manual)....

..... unless Chris wants to post some quick instructions

andy,

been busy

glovebox/ROM removal:

remove side trim

1 screw.

unclip lower trim panel - set aside.

lower inner corner of glovebox panel - 1 screw.

open glove box - 4 screws

crack glove box out

unclip light , push airbag connector to left - it will slip off the mount.

remove glovebox

remove visible screws under navi panel.

grab from left and GENTLY crack it out of place - get too rough and I'm not buying you another :(

unclip ETS box

2 screws in navi unit - remove

2 screws rear botton of navi unit - remove.

unplug/ remove unit.

NOW

if you are pulling apart a car I have done be careful as there are extra modules taped inthe the nav harness or around it.

for those that want the jap girl to talk again - not happening. that is a byproduct of the navi refit. some of the cars WILL talk regardless but 90% do not.

I sent them to your personal email address last night...... did you get it?????

can you send it to me as well please....buddy pal mate.

BTW...check out this.....pick the error's in what his saying...

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
