could be exhaust gasket too.

+1

Mine was tapping like a motherf**ker after a track day at Eastern Creek. Tapping increased with revs too (louder and faster). Only slight loss in power. Wouldn't boost as much either.

Blew out all the exhaust gaskets: engine to manifold, manifold to turbo, turbo to gate, turbo to dump.

Had all gaskets replaced with steel ones and all was good again.

Fingers crossed this is what the problem is with yours miss.

Awwwww thanks guys....

Bout to start stripping it down... unfortunately it sounds like its spun a big end.. :D At least it will be rebuilt by the time the rest of the car gets back from the panel shop... and I didn't have to rush getting my engineers report finished today!

After I take the seized the turbo off the zed ready to pop chris's spare 25 stocko on tomoz (fanks darling) anyhoo...

Ed... hell no ... il bring a recording of it with me... stalled 50% of the time getting it home last night... still got oil pressure though... haha.

p.s ... definitely an internal sound and still makes boost!

p.p.s... RB26 is still an option but in another car :) ... il be rebuilding this and selling it.... so all u vultures trying to part out my car (greg) you will just have to buy the whole thing!

Atleast both cars are hidden away now so nothing can hurt them... but the big Drop Spiders!

I think Timmy J drinking time, panties and lounge room dancing are in order!

:):3some::)

It did happen a bit like that on that fateful night!! bwahahahahahahaha

If its a motor out job im happy to swing past and lend a pretty useless hand

I make a mess easily, and will probably just sit around and get drunk

Come on, its the thought that counts

Excellent, lucky those crownies are still here!!

Motor is coming out so I can send the car off to have its ass fixed :D , least I know my cousins wont be flogging it... just pushing it round

OMG Anna, it seems to be never-ending for you.

Sell black cars (both of them), buy Stagea!

If I sell teh zed... Liz wil kill me.. Im scared of Liz! 33 is defintely going.... but not for a Stagea... I refuse to have 4 doors!!! Sooooooorry!

Yeah, I can understand the being scared of Liz thing.

Stagea has 5 doors, in theory, so you're safe.

^^^ yep... so do I part it out or fix it and sell it???

If I fix it il be tempted to keep it, if I sell it ... it will behave for the new owner and il be p1ssed!

That's the million dollar question.

When do you cut your losses :D

Didnt you have a built RB25 sitting at your dads Tafe waiting to be fitted to the R33 Anna??

Sorry to hear about it dieing, I know exactly how you feel!!

I have a built SR20.. and yes there was a 25 but i sold it to cover costs in other areas of finishing of teh 33. In hind sight I prolly should of sold the sr20.... but meh.

Sorry to hear its gone to god. Been there done that with the bad luck thing. Smoky gave me the heads up. Look just use his parts and do a 3lt for your 33 he aint gonna use em for a while anyway ! ! !

awww.. anna..

I dont knwo you..

but I knwo how hard it is to have an engine that just wont work as it should!!!!

Its so dis-heartening..

Know that by the end of it its all gonna be worth it..

Its worse if you do all the work yourself.. you cringe at the end effort that must go in.. the hours spent.. and the late nights wasted.. but when its back.. and everything is ok.. it makes you smile to the worlds end..

Chin up.. It will get there.. promis

end drunken rant..

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
