I would assume it would be slightly me responsive being ball bearing as opposed to journal (kkr items are journal bearing type are they not?) ...

also aren't the kkr series only oil cooled whereas the HKS item is water and oil cooled??

if I could have my pick I would have anything HKS put on my car over anything else on the market :D

Don't get me wrong, I love the japan stuff, but he already has the bigger KKR. A 2530 won't make the same power. It's considerably smaller. If we're talking a comparable Jap turbo you'd be looking at something the size of a 2840 or a GT30 I would think?

only making around 295rwhp

yes its laggy bout 4500rpm full boost

the car with 2530 on it i took it for a drive last nite, very good low down torque and mid range wheel spins coming on in 2nd but yeah

i dunno wot to do lol

help me!!! some ppl say 2530 2 small for rb25? im only really after 300rwhp would 2530 get me there easy enough?

well the motor has 250,000kms on it and ive been running 19psi thru it for last 6 months

so 300rwhp is pretty much the limits i think and response would be nice my thing is laggy as hell haha its a joke!

obviously you're unhappy with your current lag and you've seen the down low response of the 2530. whats holding you back?

250000kms? wtf juz?

295RWHP@19psi, with fully boost at 4500rpm = VERY SHIT TURBO!!

For a turbo to make full boost at 4500rpm i would expect it to be pretty damn big and make at least 330rwkw (450rwhp)

Kkr's aren't shit ..

however the kkr430 would have been the better option... unless you want to use it for just drags etc. it's not going to get great response with a stock engine,

John Cane runs (drifter) runs a kkr430 on his Rb25det in his laurel and it goes awesome!

I had a HKS 2535 which is a little better but I have been in an RB25 with a 2530 on it and there is almost no lag! It was an awsome street car the only downfall it had was that you couldnt push it to redline you were better of shifting at 6 - 6,500 rpm...

I would do it.. it will make about 220 - 230 max but i have seen them run mid 12's in an R33.. PM Robo's on the forum, he had one.

Its not all about rwkw.... from how laggy you have said your turbo is, the 2530 would destroy the kkr setup on the street even if it was making a bit more power.

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
