Hey guy I was trying to install the radio/cd player unit for my R33

I was up to step 4. Remove the factory unit, but can't unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom of the unit

does anyone have similar difficulties and have suggestions as to what other tools I can use?

Thanks

Line up the screw driver and screw, get a hammer and give the back of the screw driver a few light taps to loosen.

Try loosening with a breaker bar but be careful not to stuff the corners of the screw..

If all else fails, drill it.

& if all that fails, try Dr Who's Sonic Screwdriver

I know that doesn't help you any right now but along with flying cars (http://www.moller.com/skyc.htm), affordable public space travel (http://www.virgingalactic.com) & personal submarines (http://www.uboatworx.com) we'll probably see it all in our lifetimes.

In the meantime, just drill it........... :)

Yep I'm bored with too much time on my hands

not for much longer :w00t:

hammer and screwdriver trick works on those. worst ones are on the radio itself.

Hey guys I finally got the screw and installed the new player, it's working fine and all

but now I'm facing a bigger problem, my car won't start (and it's not because it's out of battery)

ok so I put the keys into the slot and try to start it, but it keeps making clicking sounds

and when I switch it back to the start position there's this humming/chattering noise in the engine bay

I tried to put the factory unit back in but it still gives me the same problem

can anyone help me, I dun wanna catch the bus tomorrow.

Thanks in advanced

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
