Sau Vic 2007 Annual Show N Shine & Xmas Party - Wrap Up & Results

Recommended Posts

A fantastic day saw a great turnout to the annual SAU VIC Show N Shine and Xmas Party for 2007.

Car attendance well over the 45+ mark saw a wide range of skylines (and non skylines) for a great day of cars and people.

These days are aimed at our members showing off their cars on an autosalon outdoors style display with a free BBQ.

Located in the lovely banks of the yarra river just near alexander parade gives the club plently of exposure and onlookers.

Members enjoyed a free lunch provided by the club and were able to display their cars for voting awards and great prizes.

Those who attended were also offered discount vouchers at one of SAU VIC's selected premier workshops, so if you missed out then you missed some great deals!!!

Entry for members was free and there were no costs involved, so next year be sure you are there to be in it!!!

Prizes and Awards:

Trophies and a $240 Centreline Suspension voucher (valid for parts and labour) will be awarded for "Best in Show" in the following main categories:

• Godzilla class (32, 33, 34 GT-R) - Best overall GTR

• Godzuki class (31, 32, 33, 34 GTS/GTT) - Best overall GTS/GTT

• WRC class (WRX, Evo)

• Dorifto class (Silvia platform)

• Intruder class (other)

& there will also be trophies, a 12 month suscription to Unique Cars (value $80) and an SAU polo shirt awarded to the winner each of the below:

• Godzuki class (31, 32, 33, 34 GTS/GTT) - one each for 31, 32, 33, 34 GTS/GTT

There was a great variety of cars on display throughout the day.

This ranged from a standard GTST skyline to full track spec GTR's with all the nice goodies.

Members also got to check out the latest in the Evolution Lancer spec, a 1cm off the ground HR32 GTST, a hot GTR R34 with a psycho chamelion paint job and a fully restored BNR32 Aus spec GTR.

Special thanks to our sponsors Centreline for sponsoring this event and donating the fantastic prizes!

Photos & Results will be posted here when they are finalised and sorted.

Please post any comments & feedback here also as we are keen to hear what you the members thought of this event.

It was a good day and there were plenty of nice skylines around.

I've got a few photo's but I'm sure everyone else has them too :D

Do people blank out the number plates before putting the photo's up? I don't like having my plates on public forums.

Oh, I didn't really get to meet anyone because everyone seemed to be in some sort-of group and I didn't really know anyone.

I'll have to ask my questions on the forums and email.

Does anyone know what motorsport events are coming up that are relevant to a non-CAMS licensed beginner?

Thanks to all the SAU committee for giving up their time to run the day, especially Chris on the BBQ - the Tong Master! :D those chilli sausages were tasty!

Was a nice relaxed day out in the sun, always good to catch up with the regulars. Numbers seemed less than last year.. but was great to see everyone's cars looking mint, met a few new club members as well.

I took heaappps of photos which I will post up a selection of soon. Those final inspection detailing jobs look sensational - ronin's doors were like mirrors! Catch everyone at the final meeting on Dec 18th :D

Great day, awesome group of people, and good weather; made for a fantastic BBQ/SnS. Big thanks to Min and Chris for their efforts, and the rest of the SAU committee.

Only down side: My car wasn't ready to make an appearance :D

Great day indeed. Was good to come along, join up and meet a few people. I've not long moved interstate from Newcastle NSW so its great to make new friends that also have a healthy interest for Skylines. I was a bit rude (shy?) and didn't introduce myself too much yesterday but I was the guy in the 33 GTR (Midnight purple) with the chrome work equip rims. Looking foreward to attending more events and meeting more people.

^ hey mate (daniel with the black R34), hot, hot rims!! lucky to get them with the car. If you ever want to fix em up 100%, Craig @ colorurmags.com.au (something like that) is your man :D

have fun modding your car! See Damian @ Final Inspection if you want to get it detailed :D

thanks you people for the day it was good to catch up, and meet some of the members.

as for the BBQ nice work, but damn did the chill sausages go quick....i only got one

PS. the drive way into the PARK!!!!!! i nearly lost my front bar!!!!! i had to reverse my way out when i was leaving, i saw some people looking they must of been thinking '' WTF is this guy doing"

cheers THANKS FOR THE DAY!

    • Today, I'm a Breville BES920 tech, new triac board and new 3x way solenoid. Had overheating issues, home RCD tripping when it got warm, and the boiler stayed on when the machine was shut off. Also, usually 3x way solenoid chatter, this is the 3rd time I'm replacing it. Mind you, this machine is 9 year old and send it every day doing at minimum 3x double shots. When the in laws come over to took after my daughter, it will easily see 6x double shots in a single day. Tried to be somewhat compliant, crimped and then used a screw connector over the top. Would have preferred to use heat shrinks.   After all that, turns out all the overheating has damaged the o-rings to the steam tap as well. Ordered new ones, coming soon.
    • Still got it- First time checking sau in a while ahhaha
    • I don't know about that. I can hoon my R32 around - hard launches, high lateral Gs - with <<1/4 tank without any such shenanigans. This with the previous 040 and the current GSS342. I would suspect a fuel line problem. One of the hoses associated with the top of the tank perhaps.
    • This is amazing. Love that you’re giving the boys an intro to cars and off the screens. They probably have an insta for the car and build posts on TikTok for their mates.
    • It is.  Your car works fine with the tank full. If you drive like a Nana it works fine.  You give it a boot full with half a fuel tank, you get surge.  It 100% is a fuel surge issue. Maybe have a look at installing a Hydramat if you don't want to install a surge tank.  https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/
