R33 Gt-r

The R33 GTR would have to be my pick out of the bunch.

Its ture that the 32 and 34 GTR look fairly more agressive, but in these days of new laws and tighter restrictions on vehicles, that isnt always a good thing.

The 33 GTR can blend into the crowd with it smooth sleek lines while still packing enough punch to take out those tossers in the holdens, fords, hondas, etc.

(apologies to anyone thats owns holdens, fords, hondas etc, just referring to the actual idiot hoons out there).

But yer, R33 GTR FTW.

I just bought (today) my GTR 33!!!!

I paid 25000. Stock as a rock but has a new triple plate clutch, trust frount mount and n1 turbos... apart from that stock airbox, exhaust, wheels etc etc etc. oh its that midnight purple colour...

but yer 25000!!! Thought i did well! sold my GTST for 18 and bought the GTR 25.... will post pics asap!

Not a VSPEC... but does that matter??? :S :)

what do you guys think of the stock wheels?? i dont mind them just a bit to skinny! shame there not wider

Would really appreciate some pics, nice price u got on ur GTST aswell. Job well done.

I own a 32GTR and a 33GTR and have also driven and competed in a few tarmac rallies and hill climbs in a 34GTRvspec and without taking into account the exterior styling of the cars wich is all down to personal preferance i can say that the 32GTR is a fun car to drive (thrash) on a track but is a lot twichier and the most likly to bite you in the ass when driven to the edge (more than likley due to the slower attesa) wich is why i think they are a fun (exciting) car to drive. The R33GTR is alot more balanced car easier to drive on the edge more confidence inspiring and despite the extra weight is actually faster on the track due to the better attesa and better suspension geometry and wheelbase and is also a much better option as a daily driver. And I found the R34GTR to be inbetween the R33 and R32GTR's not as twitchy on the limit as the R32GTR but not quite as smooth and balanced as the R33GTR they seem to have a lot more initial understeer than a R33GTR but are a little easier to coax into oversteer than the R33GTR but no where as near as tail happy (wich on a track = slower) as the R32GTR. I love all the GTR's but my choice to build my race car out of is my R33GTR due to the fact that lap times are the main priority and due to the better all around balance of the R33GTR for me it is the pick of the bunch from a track oriantated point of view especially when you take into account the age of the R32GTR and the price of the R34GTR. As far as exterior styling goes all GTR's are good looking tough cars.

It's got a rebuilt motor or something?

I can see the top of the engine is purple - that's not standard.

oh yer no no he just had the covers taken off and sprayed, and the coil cover is off of a 34 GTR so it says GTR etc on it...

Thanks mate... im happy.. just need to replace the shocks and get a wheel alignment and all should be good!

33 GTR is the pick of all GTR's I reckon, yeah I'm biased, but they have always been the best IMO because they aren't as in your face, they are sleak, yet tuff, angry and agressive with the right mods, yet still remain classy looking.

34's are desirable purely because they are the newest, I think they look great, and I'd buy one if I had the money, but only because its the newest, not because I like it over the others.

32's are old, simple as that! Tuff(?), yes, but only when modded right, but waaaaaay to 80's and just don't have all that much appeal as far as I'm concerned.....its an age thing mainly as they don't have much refinement for regular use, especially not for daily use and the interior is lacking, but its also a looks thing, kinda ugly from the outside.

31's, ahhhh, not even in the league of GTR's and shouldn't even be compared, sorry!

R33 GTR owners= can you give the GTS-T owners here some indication of what they're missing out on, comparison wise? For both stock and modded variations of the models?

I recently went from a std 96 gts-t (great reliable car) to a nearly std 95 gtr.

Severe difference in all deparments.

They may look the same in ways, but that's where the buck stops.

More Grip and more power from the GTR.

Money talks though - the more money you throw at a vehicle the more improved it becomes, not hard to get good performance out of a GTS-T that's for sure.

GTR costs more money to buy for sure, so if you spent the difference (say 10k - 15K) on a GTS-T how well would it go?

Bloody well sideways I'm thinkin'.................

I just sold my s2 gtst r33 around 210kws and bought a stock as a rock gtr 33.

And the differance is huge! i wouldnt have believed it until i bought it. i thought the gtst had a sporty feel etc but the gtr feels and acts sporty full stop. handeling A+ grip A+ response A+ id never go back to a gtst after driving it....

but then everyones different!

Sold my GTR purple R33 GTS-T recently and picked up a GTR 32. The shocks are rubbish at the mo but , the difference is incredible even so. The torque and hp curve are much more aggressive than the 33 and i like that, and it handles BRILLIANTLY much more like a go cart i think, :D very point and shoot. That coupled with very light wheels make a great getup and gone ! Definately a stiffer chassis in the 32's that i think is an advantage on most surfaces though not all. I want every kw moving the least amount of kg possible or im buying a statesman with 3 aircons and 4 v8's :P

Great comment mate, i guess you'd get a fast and grippy gtst for $15K but without ATTESA i think it's just a massive set-back. RWD will never get all those KW's to the road like AWD will :)

Ok i'm scared to test drive a 33 GTR...i do believe that's the end of my financial future.

Yeh someone commented eariler in the thread that the 32 is like a dart (a mate with a 32 gtr said the same to me yesterday) = aim and shoot, but the 33 is more luggy and beasty and needs a more patient & controlled driving style (esp. braking with all that weight) but can still rocket out of a corner due to quicker ATTESA. Maybe we could say the 33 is less scary because you can take corners more confidently due to better ATTESA and a weightier feel with less chance of snap oversteer?

Wow dude, that's a beautiful GTR right tharrr :(

When modded well they are a sight to behold, really, they're f**king awesome cars. Black really suits the 33 GTR as well.

Really guys, can we all stop pretending the weight difference between the skylines is making a real difference... its not like comparing a line to a falcodore where its hundreds of kilo's...

Well the mate i was referring to owns a 32 and 33. He gave me advice on cornering in both, with completely different styles and responses from each.

Even an 80KG difference is like a person stepping in/out of the car :) What about 150KG? I think it's worth mentioning.

R33 & R34 are my favorite ones.

R32's looks a bit too "old" styled...

While the new R35 reminds me of the V35 which in turn reminds me of the the 350z which I don't really like the look of...

Also the another thing I noticed from the conversations I had (with none skyline owners). One of the main reasons they don't like the 33 seems to be that they think its too "common" / "theres too many of them on the streets".

If I wanted a uncommon car I probably could even go for one of those 0.7L smart cars. Anyone driven one of those? I can only image that they accelerate even slower than my family's Camry...

The weight difference is really not an issue as the wheelbase suspension geometry and the diffent speed of the attesa makes most of the diffence between the models hence the different driving styles . As far as the weight is concerned it may not be that much different if aftermarket wheels have been fitted light or heavy and if stereo equipment ect a standard 33GTR would be the same weight or lighter than a R32 GTR with some stereo gear and some heavy after market wheels(generaly cheaper wheels weigh more than the stnd wheels on a GTR). But I strongly agree that all the models have good and bad points.
