Cut and Polishing / detailing car + MAS entrants query

Recommended Posts

Go easy on me, I dont normally start my own threads.

Anyone got a decent contact for Cut and Polishing / Detailing?

Melbourne only. Preferably SE suburbs.

Reasonable Price.

Needs to be done by next weekend.

No silly posts, thanks.

Any HELP much appreciated :P

Either PM or post here.

How do you guys plan on preparing your cars?

Just the usual wash? - with a bit of extra care perhaps?

Full detail?

C&P?

Blow-wave? j/k :P

Are you doing it yourselves or what?

We could organise a group thing for a discount somewhere maybe?

I am currently trying to find a GOOD place, though I am concerned time isnt on our side.

Any tips would be welcomed.

its a car detailing place on the corner of hoddle and gipps st in collingwood... i used to work around the corner from it... do a good job... full interior clean including shampoo from what i remember and the exterior i think u can get a olish or cut and polish or depending on how much u want to spend they have different options etc

I"m up for some detailing as well, thoe i have the products Meguires i cant be ****ed doing it by hand, detailed my car myself a while ago, but so much work with using the hands...dam...

When helping out with the MAS on the two days its on i'll be in the stand hopefully, with nice pampering cloths and meguires quick detailer, to get those dam finger prints off and shit. I keep em up to showcar conditions even after the detail. CHeers Rob

sorry if its too late but the guy i bought my car off is a panel beater... deals with loads of skylines that he brings in... done some work on my car.. including repsyraying my bonnet before i got it coz it had a couple stone chips... and u've seen my car... the bonnet was fine yer ? might wanna give him a bell on 9308 8977 his name is Paul he is in roxburgh park (its close to the maccas where my car coz smacked :P) and tell him u know me he will look after you

oh and btw i wouldny cut it unless its in similar condsition to mine currently (i used a public car was brush :P stoopid me) as the black on skylines is the udnercoat and then the layers of clear go over that so it will just come up dull and ugly.. like where i got keyed when i tried to cut it.. i learned the hard way.. but i believe panel beaters know how to do it properly.. just tell my guy u want the paint looking schmick for autosalon and im sure he'll do what is required :D

Thanks again guys,

DJ: I will have to keep your advice in mind - thanks!

Rob - good to have your support mate ;)

Skyline33: I will be in touch if the other guys show some interest.

Sniffy: it has a lot of surface scratches that show up when looked at closely so I was thinking a cut & polish would restore it back to new. Just cause its a 34 doesnt mean the paint is brand new ~ I wish :)

me - whore? never [i could have made 5 posts out of this if I was a true ho like you :D].

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
