Mate, despite the understanding of how hard buying a new used car may be. The only advice anyone can give you is to search the SALES (whole cars) section, check www.carsales.com.au and also going to some dealerships.

There are several good cars online now... I would look at importers and dealers last as they will some time charge you an arm and a leg.

Good luck mate.

Do your homework and only settle when you know you've found the right one.

Just keep your eye on the for sale section and carsales, carpoint, etc. Test drive as many cars as possible and read the "what to look for when buying a skyline" thread.

There's also a huge thread about which dealers are good and member's experiences in this section.

Oh and look at private seller cars first in my opinion.

Good luck with your search!

I got my r33 through theses guys, and so have my friends. Speak to Peter he is very professional

Also

CARIZMA they trade on these forums, I purchased my S15 though them in '03 very good to deal with then.

stolen_s15: cheers for the compliment, mate.

Coolduck_69: we just sold a white one (R33 turbo) for $13,500. The buyers might be members of this forum I believe. Every car is different, so just look at a bunch of cars, and get to know what to look for that usually goes wrong in that particular model. If you don't know anything, arrange an inspection with a reputable mechanic (even via the RACV, but imports aren't their strongpoint, and some of them have an anti-import bias for some reason).

come see us anytime and definitely check out as many dealers / private sellers as you can.

cheers,

david @ carizma

Im the second owner of my car in Australia. It came from kamikaze imports in nunawading. I know they arent the cheapest around by any means, but the car was in very good condition.

JAPCARS in fawkener on sydney rd have a S2 silver m spec. speak to dennis, tell him daniel sent you and h will look after you. i bought my 33 frm them and the engine and drive train never failed me. plus when i modded my engine i never had any problems. just bought a 34gtt off him.

go private sale.. take someone who knows a thing or two about skyline's or keep an eye out for cars on this forum

you have a Type M, i thought M Spec was GTR?

correct me if im wrong because i too have a type m/m spec

I use and recommend J-Spec Imports for someone willing to import themselves. Most cars can be inspected by a network of mechanics in Japan and will provide photos from every angle with attention to detail. This is the way to go if you want to save money, but it's not for everybody. Good luck, hope you find the right car.

Another +1 for SSV, very professional family business and always a good selection of vehicles. I shopped around first and these guys were the best for me when I got the Evo. I dealt with Peter and Mark

if ur gonna buy a skyline

buy one with good mods already....save ur self heaps in the end.

dont get some stockie with crap rims suspension etc...go get one with that done already...get one with a PFC...FMIC etc...not hard and only a bit extra these days....this whole I wana buy it stock is just crap...2min later and u will be chasing power.

Buy mine!! Its custom silver  Very tasteful mods and comes with RWC and 12months rego. Ill even throw in my chromies for the right price ;)

Only problem is its a series 1.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
