That would be awesome if I was in NSW but im in VIC ;)

If I break it then tough luck, thats what their insurance covers!

I really don't think they can ask for your finances... unless your willing to give it to them.

What about all the guys who don't have credit cards i.e. drug dealers etc :) I'll stick with that... I'll tell him I'll have him whacked if he doesn't cooperate!

Nexus 9 I think you have it down pat! I think you may have had a bit of work to get the M3 drive yes?

PS Love that model M3 and thought about buying one but I cant let my line go yet...

No not really ... but I had background purchase history with the BMW Dealer beforehand

PS Thank you, I like it too ... ain't no R8 though

sorta on topic... there are always rich pricks cars at the back of the place i work at, usually bentley continentals and stuff like that. but when a black r8 rocked up the other day, god damn they are beautiful cars - plus the speedo goes to 350 lol. its makes me happy just seeing cars like that (fortunately its a weekly occurence) ;)

Ever driven a boxter Sheriff Wan?

i have, there pieces of shit mate. my uncle went out and bought one about 2 years ago after 2 weeks he traded it for a 911 turbo 2004 model.

he said that driving a boxter was like driving his sons barina lol

i hate boxters unless they have a fine lady driving them

just read this thread hella funny. i got a idea

rite out a check for half a million or wateva the cars worth, n show em the check n say u wanna test drive..........

Another good idea... ring up and say ur from the make a wish foundation and say uve got some1 dying whois last wish is to drive a audi R8

you have no chance!!!

The reason Audi ask for your credit card is to actually show them you are going to buy the car, not for the purpose of credit checks.

My girlfriends father bought an A4 about 12 months ago and as part of the bargaining they asked for the credit card. It just allows them to see who is serious and who are tyre kickers!!!

I dont know why you want to test drive the R8??? it doesnt even get any more power than the RS4, not to mention the extra cost which is astronomical. The chassis is no doubt nicer, but i can assure you that the RS4 has more than enough ability to have fun anywhere you want. And yes, i have driven an RS4 on a regular basis

You will not get a R8 drive. Audi/merc/ferrari/porsche and so on already established a curent and potential clientele list, and even if you are on that list and you are a "like" client then you may get a drive, even the general sale reps are not allowed to handle them, only senior management plus dedicated sale reps. I'm sure Audi OZ. has a pretty good idea of who could and would want one, and rolling up in a Boxster or an M3 isn't going to help.

    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
