I wrote this up to hopefully stop the innundation of many threads asking the same question. What bulb for what car? (sticky maybe?)

I don't have all the information, so if you have some information on the other types of cars, please PM me with the information and I will add it  (31, 32, 34 and V35 Skylines)

---R33 Skyline---

All 4 headlights are H1, the reflectors in the headlight spread the light differently between high and low beam

The driving/fog lights are H3

The parker lights are regular wedge type parker lights, sometimes known as E1.

The brake lights are regular bulbs (type 1157) with the two prongs on the bottom.

The blinkers and reverse lights are regular bulbs (type 1156) with one prong on the bottom.

You have to turn them 90 degrees...

To get the drivers side one out, I suggest you take out the washer bottle and undo then move the fuse box back...

It's still pretty crap though, but it males it a whole lot easier...

To remove the parkers on the drivers you need to remove the washer bottles and the fuse box cover, that should give you just enough room. They need a 45deg turn and then they pull out, but they are tough little fûckers... Try the passenger side ones first to see how they come out...

T5 for parker? I always thought it was T10?

I thought it was T5 because I pulled out my T5s from the dash and put it in the parkers.. that's what i'm running in there at the moment, same lights as my dash ones. Perhaps they're socket compatible?

hay ive got a 1994 s1 skyline with the fog lights and indecators in the front bar, but ive got no button for the fog lights and i dont even know if there is any in there haha. just wondering if i was to put some h3 lights in there where could i wire them up to or where are they supposed to be wired up to????

There should be a little thing on the indicator stalk that you twist to turn them on...

Legally, I am pretty sure they are supposed to be on a seperate circuit, and even more legally, you can only use them in foggy conditions... not doing so will result in a fine...

HOWEVER, I do remember hearing about people not having bulbs in there at all... like, not even the holder or the wiring, just the glass basically... kinda odd :D

I got a set of strobe lights in my foggies hehe

I dunno about R34s but the R33 parkers, rear number plate lights and dash dial lights are all T10s

Also foggies are T10 and the front indicators are interchangeable with T10s as well.

my m8 has a s2 and his has that twist thing on his but mine doesn't have it at all, i have the holders but no lights or wires in it. what else can i wire some up to???

You could wire them up to the regular lights, but this would take a lot of work, and again, you would proably get in trouble for it...

The best idea is to just make your own switch for them... though you have to remember that if you get a different front bar, or a large front mount intercooler, all this time will be wasted anyway...

A very useful write up... thanks mate... yeah, I think sticky this one.

I have it bookmarked for now, hopefully when I do the other types of skylines, it will get stickied :P

Thanks mate.... very very helpful

Thanks :P

Can't wait to steal some time with mates cars to check the other types though :(

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
