and many many more things iv forgotten about

before i go i wana say thanx to steve at steves speed shop at albion park rail, for all hes help with the speedflow setup, roll cage padding and fuel system. if it wasnt for him id still be stuck!! hes contactable on 42577333. tell him dan sent you and im sure hel look after you! :P

NOW what im curious to know, is there anyone on this site with around 400kw atws, and what times have you run? iv been told this setup will make a fair bit more than 400 kws, but i dont wana push my luck :(

<br />what coils are you using?<br />
<br /><br /><br />

im currently using GM coils from a ecotec V6, but i have a set of MSD Coils here, setup for waste spark, virtually identical to the GM coils, but obviously higher output. I was quite supprised, as the MSD coils were only $270 for the set of 3 ( waste spark) and they are a direct fit into an ecotec.... if any holden drivers are reading......

<br />thats insane! <img src="style_emoticons/default/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /><br />
<br /><br /><br />

haha thanx bud. just wait til its finished and at powercruise this year!! ( hopefully)

myself and the boys from PDK performance are tuning it. we have had it tuned with the old ecu, no speedflow etc, and it made 800ish hp on avvy, 32psi peak, all the way up to 8500 then flattened rite off. its running 8.1:1 comp, and with the E11V2 i think we can see around 400-450rwkw without too much hassles.

( reason i sold my old ecu (microtech)was cos i was having a really bad run with work, lost my job and was without money. the first thing i was offered money for was my ecu LOL)

and im also looking at selling my engine soon to build a nice 26/30. if anyones interested lol

So you changed from a jatco back to a 5 speed? hrmz..... interesting. how did the jatcos hold up? as in what times did you run with em and how long did they last?

Awesome driveline, this thing will definitely be an animal down the strip.

BUT you have failed to mention anything about the most crucial components for all forms of racing: SUSPENSION setup. What have you done in this department? Even with the right components, it's going to take alot of fine tunning to get it all working properly.

9's are a definite possibility, provided you can get the car to hook up off the line.

Good Luck! and keep us posted on your progress.

Yeh well suspension.. im still using the tanabe street dampers that are in it atm, they handle well, but will be s$#t for locking the tires up. not sure how exactly im guna tackle that issue yet. i just want to concentrate on getting it in the power skids at powercruise for the time being lol

they normally lasted about 3months car ran the 10.4 with the jatco after 60foot it felt like i was going to get milk manual going to be more of a challenge

yes will definately be a challenge getting the gear changes right! at least it will make you work harder for you 10 sec passes haha. only reason i went auto was so i could spool up, otherwise i love manuals to death!

set of coil overs(if you need some let me know i sell them)amd m/t 28x9s will do the trick

use a two step to spool it up i hope to crack in to the high 9s with a bit of nos

you sell coilovers ay? well well... how much would a setup for me be? basically want the front to lift and the rear to squat am i correct? wat brand? what service life etc?

ksport coilover we are just finishing doing 90/10 insert so the front will lift hard but you dont want the back to soft call me on monday for price at A&B motorsports 99059523 ask for paul :worship:

i will definately call about those coilovers man! got me very interested!!!!!

btw im contemplating running a 150 shot of gas to get the thing spooling qucker, so i dont hold the transbrake too long. you rekn this is an ok idea, or will it just burn clutches faster?

    • Hi all,   long time listener, first time caller   i was wondering if anyone can help me identify a transistor on the climate control unit board that decided to fry itself   I've circled it in the attached photo   any help would be appreciated
    • I mean, I got two VASS engineers to refuse to cert my own coilovers stating those very laws. Appendix B makes it pretty clear what it considers 'Variable Suspension' to be. In my lived experience they can't certify something that isn't actually in the list as something that requires certification. In the VASS engineering checklist they have to complete (LS3/NCOP11) and sign on there is nothing there. All the references inside NCOP11 state that if it's variable by the driver that height needs to maintain 100mm while the car is in motion. It states the car is lowered lowering blocks and other types of things are acceptable. Dialling out a shock is about as 'user adjustable' as changing any other suspension component lol. I wanted to have it signed off to dissuade HWP and RWC testers to state the suspension is legal to avoid having this discussion with them. The real problem is that Police and RWC/Pink/Blue slip people will say it needs engineering, and the engineers will state it doesn't need engineering. It is hugely irritating when aforementioned people get all "i know the rules mate feck off" when they don't, and the actual engineers are pleasant as all hell and do know the rules. Cars failing RWC for things that aren't listed in the RWC requirements is another thing here entirely!
    • I don't. I mean, mine's not a GTR, but it is a 32 with a lot of GTR stuff on it. But regardless, I typically buy from local suppliers. Getting stuff from Japan is seldom worth the pain. Buying from RHDJapan usually ends up in the final total of your basket being about double what you thought it would be, after all the bullshit fees and such are added on.
    • The hydrocarbon component of E10 can be shittier, and is in fact, shittier, than that used in normal 91RON fuel. That's because the octane boost provided by the ethanol allows them to use stuff that doesn't make the grade without the help. The 1c/L saving typically available on E10 is going to be massively overridden by the increased consumption caused by the ethanol and the crappier HC (ie the HCs will be less dense, meaning that there will definitely be less energy per unit volume than for more dense HCs). That is one of the reasons why P98 will return better fuel consumption than 91 does, even with the ignition timing completely fixed. There is more energy per unit volume because the HCs used in 98 are higher density than in the lawnmower fuel.
    • No, I'd suggest that that is the checklist for pneumatic/hydraulic adjustable systems. I would say, based on my years of reading and complying with Australian Standards and similar regulations, that the narrow interpretation of Clause 3.2 b would be the preferred/expected/intended one, by the author, and those using the standard. Wishful thinking need not apply.
