Howdy.. I just got a ATS single plate carbon clutch put in my R33...destroyed the original..Only problem is if its slightly ridden I get a pretty solid rattle plus with clutch pedal out there's fair wack of bearing noise..I've done searches here but my greif is that I live here in japan and its holiday time and my tuner isnt open until next week..I dont know if he thought he'd save me a few yen by not doing the thrus/input bearing, have to wait to find out..

Clutch has only done 250 k's so far ..500 to run in and I'm only riding as little as possible but living in the north if japan I'm driving on ice everyday so clutch in and out alot to stop wheelspin and get some forward momentum..

Anyway any usefull info be great...anyone else used these clutches..

just sounds like a single plate clutch mate, upgrade from the original/stock you destroyed! It does rattle/grind when engaged! You should hear my triple plate haha! Don't think there's anything to worry about, unless im not understanding what you mean right! If in doubt get it looked at later!

the bearing noise when the pedal is out (ie foot off pedal, car running but in neutral) is gearbox input shaft bearing noise. very common in skylines. it's not too big a deal. it could be bad, but most often they will get noisy and will just stay noisy for years without any problem. sometimes they get noisy and then crap themselves shortly after.

as for the clutch judder when you are taking off that is just a characteristic of a single clutch with high clamp load clutch. the only thing to cure it really is a driving style adjustment. just experiment with different techniques when taking off. or the other option is swap to another type of clutch.

Cheers blokes...

Chris it is an upgrade..still a single but supposed to be rated to 550-600ps..carbon clutch..Pedals a bit heavy but not too bad..its a 50/50 feel..on/off..

Beer Baron..I had a bit of bearing noise before with the old clutch (factory) but definitely alot louder now..I'll just turn up the stereo..Having the box out later this month/early next month for overhaul so will get them to replace bearing then..I didnt think they wouldnt replace thrust bearing, japanese too thorough..As for driving style its pretty sweet on the road but in traffic on ice its hard not too ride as you slide so much..can make for some hairy moments..I'm trying to have most of my upgrades done over winter here as its a not a matter of if you crash here..its more like when..

cheers again fellas..

they would have replaced the release bearing for sure. but gearbox input shaft bearing is a different matter. but not to worry it will be done when you overhaul the box.
