rev I think a lot of regular people are starting to realise that growth doesn't happen in the gym these days,

Don't agree with you, I see no evidence of it with regular people.

but I personally find it hard to not be doing something for my 5 days of the week.

No one says you have to do 5 days, it could be 2 or it could be 2 weeks, who knows it's muscle specific too. You do what is necessary. In all cases the best results will always be delivered throughy 'hard' choices and hard work.

Rest challenges can be the same old things like ego , worry and doubt. You think you are faster to recover than you what you measure. You are worried you will get weaker if you wait another day. You doubt that longer rest will deliver.

maybe it's just the people I associate with, though that said, I literally do not know anyone else who does compound workouts over a 3/4 day bodypart split either!

I guess the thing is here rev, that since I'm currently aiming for weight loss, that it feels 'lazy' to not be doing something in the gym in between the 3 days a week that I do my routine.

I've said this before - whether 3 days is optimal or 5 days; if you're overall happier going in and busting it out 5 days a week instead of 3, why the f**k wouldn't you? Personally I'd rather "waste my time" doing extra workouts instead of whatever the alternative, wishing I was doing something.

But that's just me, I f**king HATE being sedentary with a passion.

Everyone here harasses Markos for his opinion day in day out, yet they completely ignore what he has to say on anything they don't want to hear. Typical f**king internet huh.

Markos - care to ditch a single sentence post in here regarding your thoughts on "over training"? People seem to have ignored forgotten what you said on it last time.

I dont harass him - I just find some of his responses hard to decipher, or just frustrating (but I think some of that is his very dry sense of humour).

I've been trying to follow his methodology, but apparently the stuff out of his newsletters is not all still current (I read from 1 to 100).

The only sticking point for me is what assistance things to do to help with conditioning on the days I'm not doing my lifts, or if I should just be resting since this routine is quite hard.

Markos did write about majoring in the minor shit, and I can see what means, I'm not always asking questions in relation to myself, sometimes it's just out of curiosity!

Overtraining...............sigh

Now on a serious note, my lifters want to know all about these low reps and long breaks theyre meant to be doing lol

On a 12 week program, we start with 12's for 2 weeks, then 10's for 2 weeks, then 8's for 2 weeks, you get the point, they only hit singles once in a 3 month program

Because you guys see the RESULTS of their training, being a 1RM, you assume that all they do. Max, Martin and Jack have just started their prep for ProRawFive, not fun doing such high reps. Dan America is competing next weekend with Zoran, Alex, Jason etc, they are all doing PB's this week.

We have lifters in different stages of comp prep, all doing different things. Today Dan walked in, warmed up, benched 180kg and went home. Max is in Week 1, he has been training for over 2 hours, both were benching today.

In a 12 week prep I guarantee we do more reps than 99% of regular lifters AND use more weight than 99% of regular lifters, all within the program, the guys do 40 rep sets early on. Zoran deadlifted 305kg@110kg last night.

Our program is very developed, its not 5 x 5 or 3 x 8, every exercise is hand picked, as are the reps, depending on the stage.

Comments like our boys do singles with 20 minute rest are erroneous.

We have 2 price structures in the gym.

1. You pay $20pw, use the gym for 7 days, powerlifting area is off limits

2. You pay $40, you get programming, coaching and nutrition advice, use of the whole gym

So Max has every competing lifters program in his iPad, the entire program, so when they come in they either ask Max or look it up on his iPad.

Max writes all these programs for the lifters in his spare time. They are based off last comp lifts or tested PB's if the client hasnt competed before.

He selects the lifters next meet, then works backwards from that date. Lewis is a Sudanese boy that just started with us, very skinny, he is doing 5 x 5 until his first comp is 12 weeks away, then he begins his comp prep. While he's doing 5 x 5, Max has picked assistance exercises to help with his weaknesses.

Dan America totalled 700kg on June 15 at Nats, weighing 125kg. He is still 125kg, has not missed a single rep this prep, not one, has a 280kg squat to get tomorrow and he is at 100%.

The ability to write a 12 week program for a lifter who is very advanced, have him make EVERY rep, yet still end up with new PB's totalling 745kg is nothing short of incredible. At Nats Dan squatted 265kg, benched 160kg and deadlifted 275kg. This week, after his 280kg squat in the morning, he has benched 180kg and deadlifted 285kg.

I'd post up the 180kg bench and 285kg squat but bozo dont play that.

Programming, coaching and support in a team is why our guys improve so much.

    • Hi all, considering clutch upgrade to support 1130 engine hp from 1650cc injectors on e50 at 85% duty cycle (1650 x (11.85/14.7) x 85%). Narrows down to these three as they can be converted to use gm 26 spline input shaft if I ever want to use transmission with that input shaft (orc1000f and r3c easy/cheap just change center hub; tr2cd pricier must change clutch discs). Pricing orc1000f similar to tr2cd, r3c about usd 200 pricier. Orc1000f triple plate 200mm. Tr2cd twin plate 215mm. R3c triple plate 215mm. Claimed max torque : orc 1000f 723 lbs ft; tr2cd 800 lbs ft; r3c 1100 lbs ft. Why orc1000f triple plate but claims lower max torque vs tr2cd twins? Is orc1000f underrated? Any info maxing out these clutches? Info on street/traffic driveability/pedal feel? Thank you for any info on them.
    • Some troubleshooting, connect up a timing light/gun with a proper ignition lead on coil 1. Hold the revs at 4~4500rpm and see if your timing is all over the shop, scattering off its tits. If so, there's a high chance your CAS is fked. But I read you have a Link ECU ready to go in, why not just skip all this and put that in - will make troubleshooting so much easier.
    • Misfires when the car is fully warm are generally attributed to the coils (and/or the igniter, on cars with a separate igniter). They can stop working properly when they get hot for a number of reasons. Either electric/electronic, or from thermal expansion opening up gaps and allowing HV leakage. Seeing as you have replaced the coils, that could/should rule them out. But I wouldn't always assume so. Were the coils genuine? Or is there a chance you have bought some counterfeit Chinesium shit? Then we're back onto loom connections. They can fail when warm/hot for the same reasons. Inspections, cleaning of contact surfaces, ensuring that terminals are fully inserted, etc etc, are all justified. The same (heat effects) holds true for the other electrics and their connectors. AFM & CAS, primarily. If you try that Chinesium AFM, drive it around on low load until it is properly hot, but do'nt give it more load than you have to, except when you need to see if it will still miss. I'm dead serious about the untrustworthiness of the calibration of those copy AFMs. Injectors are unlikely to get hot unless the fuel is coming back around hot. You could try squirting them with compressed air or freeze spray to cool them back down to see if they are maybe the cause.
    • Alright, all the plugs looks good. Noticed that it starts to get bad when the car is up to temp, that's when things starts to misfire hard. next to do is Injector cleaning and such. Got in touch with a shop to do work on the injectors next Monday also help on diagnosis.
