Hmmm i was checking out vicdrift but im not too sure because you have to drift with alot of cars and being brand new the last thing i wanna do is crash into someone.. Checked for the skid pan days on Kev's website but after looking through 6 months of the calender still didnt see any days scheduled..

Was also looking for something maybe even 1-to-1 to learn properly how to do everything..

i started at winton and calder.. the VICDRIFT guys hold nights and stuff.. been to around 6 - 7 nights or so.. learnt heaps! and you can do solo runs

at calder and winton.. Chris DeJager does runs with beginners (hese a DA driver) plus you can just speak to others who drift there and they are also pro such as Luke Fink and Drift Cat..

na 90 bucks entry.. you can chose whateva u want, to go beginners and get someone to teach you, or drift against others and do solo runs..

i started off with solo runs incase i stuffed up (and i have heaps of times) but then you get your confidence and drift with others.. i mainly go against my brother because he started to teach me to drift when i was 17

go to the practise days.. i suggest do your suspension first... get urself a 2way diff or a locker.. get some power out of your car then hit the track.. nothing worse than learning with an unprepared car.

Hey mate. 2nd hand mechanical lsd or locker should be between 500 and 1000. I might have a locker (spool) you can buy for 500 in a few weeks after I put in my new 2 way. Not very comfortable for daily driving though!

Hmmm i think before i start spending money on things like suspension for drifting im just gonna take a course where the cars are supplied.. That way i can learn then build up a drift car after that.. Is coilovers okay to use if i wanna just try a solo run?

Yeah I wouldnt mind knowing that too, On my car i just have the basics (intercooler, exhaust, coilovers, fuel pump) plus this sunday putting in heavy duty clutch + boost controller + boost gauge, so with a car thats pretty much stock, I also wander what effect it would have on the car if it was used for drifting..

its not bad if its setup right.. tyres cop a pounding if camber and toe isnt set up right. You use your handbrake alot, so have it adjusted right, make sure your tune is PERFECT because your revving your car pretty hard, its pretty much revving and heat issues.. have them covered and your alright.

ISC coilovers are good for drift, any coilovers with a hard spring rate is good.

its hard to drift in a stock skyline compared to a silvia.. having drifted both of them (not stock) the 180sx was heaps better to drift, better suspension but less power and the skyline had more power but less of a suspension setup..

cosmo: i dont think you can do a course where u drive the cars..

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
