^^ The snorkel goes under the airbox and sits just behind the vent in the front bar. So cold air is feed from the bottom up into the airbox.

Ok I thought there needs to be a hole under the airbox for a cai which is where the stock intercooler piping goes through. So if you use the stock cooler location you cant use this snorkel??

Ah yeah I was thinking GTR. LOL! Cuz you need that vent to cool the intercooler.

The only other place I can think of the stock / aftermarket snorkel can go is next to the intercooler or a vent on the side.

Members on the forum with a R32 GTS-T can tell probley tell us. Hmmm...

Mate with a similar 33 to me used the clark rubber dealio and i copied his. We also ducted from the front bar using alloy 4 inch aircon ducting from bunnings.

I have a temp probe on my ruzzic engineering engine monitor so we did some before and after tests to see just how effective it was. The temp differences are amazing.

Driving. pre CAI...45/ 55Degrees. post CAI....27 to 33 degrees. (ambient temp plays a part.

stationary. Pre CAI....75 plus degrees. post CAI 30/35 degrees (again depending on ambient)

Lift the bonnet after driving the car and feel the insulation material. On the engine side its hot to touch but on the pod side it is way cool. This stuff works and the car responds better when you bury the boot.

The shield we made involves 2 layers of the insulating material sandwiching a hard plastic inner sheet to give the stuff some rigidity. Across the rear section on the front of the strut tower we used a foam block to fully isolate the area from the engine bay.

For my money I say just do it.

ebay USA has them for around $100 from memory.

BTW the cold air box is really only needed in stop/start traffic or drags. If your travelling down the highway or doing circuit work I'd say the air flow would be sufficient to remove any hot air build up.

All well and good! However if you have a FMIC and a pod the pod must have a heat sheild. Or else Nixon's little piglets will jump all over you!

Damn coppers! I'm sick of their sh!t.

Here's my attempt after being defected for pod without enclosure. :) Not finished yet, but almost there. Just sand and paint.

Mine is a tight fit.

Here's some progress pics.

Pics of part of the lid, which will have perspex in the spaces left.

Fleece stretched to frame, and soaked in resin.

Base of the enclosure. Filling up some gaps with fibreglass.

Using plastic hose for the cai. Got it from Autobahn for $25. Can be bent and extended upto 1m, and seems to be out of tough plastic.
