hey guys, i just bought a repairable writeoff r32 gtr which is nearly ready to be registered and i need to find some rims but i've been told that there aren't many rims around that will clear the brakes on the front?? anyone know what i must specify to a tyre shop so they can find me some rims that will? btw i'm not willing to shave the caliper either. Any help would be much appreciated :P

If you dont care about looks or grip a set of r33 gtst stockies will clear the brakes (if you need it to pass rego). Proof? Ive had a set on my gtr, looked shit and didnt get much traction in rwd but yeah

Or R32 GTR stockies? or even R33 GTR stockies? (if you're doing it on the cheap ring up powerplay in sydney they do copies)

There's so many rims that will fit nicely though its hard to tell what style you like, in addition to the offer posted by Ryan;

Get some stock R32 Gt-R rims. They are cheap, plentiful & the tyres to go with them will also be cheap.

Far, far better than any imported Chinese chromie shit you may find in most tyre shops.

Failing that a good second hand Japanese rim in 17". 17*9+22 is the best size for a 32. 18's are ok too.

yeah if i had the money i would. i can get a set of impul 18x8's brand new for $1800 but i don't wanna splash out on wheels cause i might need the money i've got saved for other things. what about a set of ba falcon rims off a fpv? they come with brembo's so they'd have no trouble fitting over the gtr's brakes right?

Since its a jap car stick with jap wheels looks better holds the value better.

17" wheel will fit over std brakes and best performance and general driving wheel.

18" x 10.5 with anything from +15 to +22 offset will fit 32GTR. This is my fav choice as you can now upgrade the brakes to sometihng bigger such as brembo f150 and they look dam sexy :-)

19" only if you can afford it, and you want the bling factor, oh and if you are able to fit them and no performance or driving value.

Thats very big for r32!

Hows the tyre scrub?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
