Had them done after I got the car,

chuck Taran a PM, he did them for me, I assume he still has all the information as they had to be made up off pics and measurements i took. If not I can have a look for his email.

Got some Gaskets in friday, and some nice gold engine paint to match the wheels :D Though now im starting to think about getting some red paint and doing the calipers aswell

car finally arrived in perth, after much hassle. id recommend to stay clear of Moving cars/CEVA (TNT) when transporting cars. my car arrived in perth only to be accidently sent back to Adelaide. No reason given. Once it finally arrived they drove they car from the yard out to me, it idled for 2 min max and ran out of fuel. Its a condition of transport that your car has 1/4 tank of a fuel. f**k knows where the 1/4 tank went. was offered no fuel or compensation. treated pretty rudely and was denied the contact details of any managers to speak to.

either way

put the car on dyno just to check afrs, lucky i did cos it runs very lean once on boost.

run was stoped at 6500 rpm due to afrs, but managed 301 rwhp at 14 psi. reving to 8200 limit surely gain a few more ponies especially with 292 cams.

im confident itll get 400+ rwhp once it gets a safer tune and some boost into her

car i in better condition then i had thought, and has had outragous amounts of money spent on it

Dude this car is in Perth now :P I gotta come have a look see for myself. What are your plans for it?? road regoed? motorsports? Good to see another DR in Perth, especially one of this calibre. I like the black bottom half pic too.

yer will be road regod, no motor sport

just fast streeter, see what itll do at drags and maybe take to track day to kill some tyres legally

engine is real noisey, like every fj. But with the cams it almost has a rotory engine note at idle.

it drives nice, isnt powerful down low but deff not doughie

at around 4k even off boost u can feel car surging fwd, once turbo is on song car just flys. revs up so fast on street. 2nd gear is completely useless even on 255 R comps.

i havent taken any corners yet with any kind of throttle so i got no idea of how it handles in that regaurds

hee hee, yeh when I first drove my DR with 330hpatw on tap it certainly made the old freckle pukker up a bit and yeh I have 225 rubber on the rear as well and even in 3rd they light up pretty easy. Haven't been up to it's tuned 19psi/355atw yet, would be fairly interesting I would imagine. As far as corners are concerned I have found that on boost sideways is the best way around :D

Hey Ross

Nice ride did you have much trouble with WA rego? I'm keen for any updates on this beast as I've just aquired IronmaskedDR30's DR and in the process of building a motor for it the ex race motor from Mark Alford's sunny. Can't wait to get this baby running.

I've been for run in mine with previous owner :woot: very street drivable until you mash the throttle :) and we had slight 3rd gear traction issues

Deza

I heard this car was sold back to QLD and a fuel can placed in the boot.

It moved and shorted out the battery....KABOOM one dead DR.

Hope that's not the case :P

definately went back over east.. i was looking at buying it

hopefully the kaboom part isnt true though :D

the engine bay in that thing was unreal, definately had alot of time and money spent on it, and hearing the idle of the 292's was porn!

Ahoy all.

Yes its true, i bought the dr, and it now resides in qld. There was a fire in the boot during transport, however is now all fixed. Car is now 2 tone blue/gun metal grey. Just retrimming the interior at the moment.Brakes have been upgraded to 4 pot calipers at the front, however i would like to change these to larger units if i can find something suitable., Hydraulic handbrake fitted, and a lot more work gone into the engine bay. Bellhousing has been replaced with a one off dellow unit as the one it had was not quite right, and a beefier clutch is being sussed (adequate at the moment, but not for long) New fuel system (existing system was going to be inadequate for the levels of boost i am planning to run), and water meth injection also with the aim of 35psi boost. Hope to have some pictures up soon. By the way i am chasing a couple of excellent condition trim parts for the car, chrome front door trims (the ones that sit atop the door at the bottom of the window), the chrome trims that sit around the rear side windows, and the side r/h rear skirt that sits behind the rear wheel and runs to the rear bumper. The ones i have are ok, but would like some mint ones to really finish it off. Cheers all.

    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
