After spending the last 12 months looking for, buying, importing and testing the quaility of solid state lightweight incar cameras for motorsport use I've found the Go Pro Motorsport camera.

It's a 3 megapixel camera with glass lense, 16mb memory expandable to removable SD card (2Gb), 512x348 video, self timer, USB/RCA connection, powered by 2 AAA batteries and PC and Mac software.

Its suitable for CAMS drift, supersprint, hillclimb, circuit racing and rally use without a metal cradle as a it only weighs 40grams without batteries and under 100 with.

It can be used internally or externally on any smooth surface, it can even be fitted to a helmet for bike or kart filming!

I bought a bunch of these if anyone else wants one just PM me - $269 including mounting arms, software and cables.

guesty - i'm gonna take some footage over the weekend, the only other footage online is compressed so doesn't really paint a true picture.

sau_man - i doubt the pictured arm would stick to an r32 dash, but the stick on mounting tabs in kit would stick on an r32 dash i reckon.

to not have a metal cradle the camera must be under 100grams.

At that price i'd rather spend an extra $100 and just buy a MiniDV Camcorder and get proper quality, I have never seen this unit before but my guess is the video quality will be no better than a $99 webcam (or $300 mobile phone quality).

I'll be happy to be shown otherwise....

sau_man - the suction arm can stick on windows or windscreen yeah.

benm - the quality is in line with the price, but certainly better than a webcam as you can see from the below footage which was resized and compressed for the web. i'll take some uncompressed.

the point of this one is you don't need the ridiculous fabricated 3mm thickness metal cage CAMS require for cameras over 100grams... next easiest option than this is a remote lipstick and base hd and then your looking at $1500+.

some footage taken at bathurst with one the other week - http://s162.photobucket.com:80/albums/t279...thurstInCar.flv

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh i'm temped to get one of these for my car, mount it in the top lh corner on the windscreen like a lot of the Targa cars dad. I've been playing with the dataloging with the datalogit (logging attessa, and brakes) , and with a camera i'll be able to overlay the speeds etc with this http://www.trackvision.net/

i played around with it all weekend and some good results. the coolest was sticking it on the outside of the door behind the wheel!

I found a dealer that sells them in Australia for $260 www.racerecall.com They also have the flash looking Viosport POV.1 Theyve got some links to videos taken as well.

whats so special about the actual camera?

it's really small and light, wireless and waterproof and picks up great audio. It's the only one I've seen that's been made specially for motor sport.

    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday. Now for some reason I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  But I see no mention of this on any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must me missing something?
    • BRUH, one of the biggest mistakes of my life..... and i've had plenty ;[)
    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.
