Shoosh you! We're talking about single turbo setups here. Take your TT setup ranting someplace else

As for gearbox, I'm running the OS Giken Cross Mission gearset with a billet sandwhich plate and a custom Jim Berry twin plate (4400lb clamping pressure) clutch. Touch wood, never smashed a box and the clutch is THE BEST EVER!!

R33 with the fully built Rb 26 engine an the old T78 34D turbo charger, dont have the pics of the T04Z installed on my job compu. so this is my old setup, was pushing 400AWKW, with the Rb28 cams and head job and the T04Z it pushes close to 480AWKW, daily driven.

HKS t45s turbo

on 13psi leaking back to 11 (due to only crappy bleed valve atm) made 340rwhp.

I have one of those low mount HKS RB26 manifiolds for sale at the moment. Are you sure the turbo is a T45 and no the TO4R?

Hey guys just wondering you can post up pictures of your rb26det engines please also info on what turbo and power you make....

Built Rb26 with Gt35 turbo in an R32 gtst. Using standard R33 gtst gearbox with Jim Berry modified Nismo clutch. Not sure how much power because it hasnt been tuned yet. Hoping for 330 rwkw or something like that; i dont care, as long as its reliable!

I would hope so as that is what I was told when I bought the car so I'd be pissed if he lied to me. I think it is though because its laggy as all hell...

As for gearbox, standard box with triple plate clutch, daily driven....Handles fine.

another built 26 with a 35r, yet to be tuned

Hey, are your covers and plenum polished or chromed/HPC coated? They look really good.

I spent about 100 hours polishing mine, but i think they'll be a bitch to maintain.

Shaun.

  • 3 weeks later...

Who has more pics like these, doesnt matter if its your car or not. We need to compile as many as possible. The reason is im trying to decide what color to paint my rb26 covers and it would be a good resource for others in the future to be able to check a thread like this for ideas :P

cheers fellas

Atm my short list is

34 blue (colur of my car/engine bay)

34 red

34 millennium jade color

Silver (dark or light)

polished (cant really be bothered tho as the plenum is taking me long enough)

in the back of my mind a really vibrant color that doesnt match anything else on my car i think would look really good too. Maybe a nice green (flame suit on)

    • Took a little trip  went to nismo hoping the get my fuel tank hoses and unfortunately they told me they didn’t have stock luckily I was able to go to a Nissan parts store and they were able to order them in for me  then can home and cleaned the tank with some degreaser and fitted the new hoses before putting it back in the car
    • 100% I’ll hack into the 33. Strap a turbo onto the RB25DE and/or put the 25 head on a 30 block. 33 passed in cos the reserve was too high. I’ll try lowballing it again and negotiate. Aim is to have it landed and on the road for under 15k, then spend the same amount on top in mods.
    • It's generally best practise to run 1x run without VCT enabled, then 1x run enabled till redline. Overlay the two torque graphs and you'll find the desired RPM to turn off VCT. Sometimes, it might be even worthwhile turning off VCT earlier control torque/cylinder pressure and using VCT purely to spool the turbo.
    • They sell them in Malaysia for about $4
    • First time I ever have issues with Amazon, but my wife often tells me to keep an eye out for fakes. It finally got me. I wrapped up the conversation with Gates. The gentlemen I was talking to seemed to hate his job but the response time on their technical support is outstanding. He stated that the hose is marked with some variation of "SAE J30R10" but that if you only purchase a 1 foot length like I did, it is possible to get a cut between markings and have a blank hose. To no ones surprise, he stated the swelling and "gummyness" isn't normal and to replace/buy from somewhere else (He mentioned NAPA). I'll toss a small end of the new one in gas for a few days before pulling the hanger out again, just to be safe.  Hose should arrive Monday. For those running multiple pump in tank hangers, you know the joys of getting them out and back in. I'm surprised I haven't destroyed my level float yet.  Lastly once I wrap all of this up, I'm planning on hitting the dyno again in 2 weeks while I'm on vacation. I realized recently that my VCT is set to turn off at 5000RPM. I'm surprised it wasn't increased while I was on the dyno last. I'm expecting I can increase it to ~6500RPM, if not more. Should hopefully get another 15-20kw out of it. I also want him to revisit my knock thresholds. I'm occasionally getting false knock around 3000rpm.
