The new Mustangs are appearing in some interesting movies & tv shows as of lately, like:

- Transformers 2007 (movie)

- Knight Rider (tv coming out this year on NBC, me cant wait)

- Bullitt (new movie is set to be released this year, prob a remake on the old? )

It's a real pitty we can't buy this car here, especially when $AUS dollar is on par with $US

yea I will admit, for an american piece of junk, It looks pretty cool.

their is a bloke in the S.E suburbs of melb, near the Ferntreegully area who has one of the Silver ones the GT500 one. if i remeber correctly.

What i don't seem to understand is, a base model GT Premium costs $27k in US (say AUS $30k) brand new.. that is considered to have a relatively farken bargain price tag here in Oz.

By the time we one ships down to Aus, it's triple the price? Had a look at mustangmotorsport.com.au (a company who imports mustangs) and the median figure is at $80k for a second hand car, WTF?

RHD conversions arent uber cheap... you could import one yourself and do the conversion yourself if you wanted to to save on cash... then you have the luxury car tax, import duty etc etc it soon ads up.

Yeah not bad, suprisingly it still looks or keeps the hard lines of the older model.

Talking to some ppl in the USA this is just another Mustang riced up and they drop their superchargers in and say it faster than the Nissan GTR R35. HA! ok, ok wateva... Also the knightrider mustang = rice, how many spoiler / vents do you want?

Plus by the time I spend the money on converting it I could get something else better IMO.

bullitt 2008 is just a limited make of the car not another movie

ie slap a badge on woo

Fool.

Brad Pitt's Bullitt

Brad Pitt will star in a remake of 60s classic movie 'Bullitt'.

The 'Ocean's Thirteen' actor will take the role of Lt Frank Bullitt made famous by Hollywood legend Steve McQueen in the 1968 original film.

A source said: "Brad shares a lot of the same passions as Steve McQueen - including a love of motorbikes and fast cars - so it was a dream role for him."

The original film sees the tough detective hunting a hitman who has killed his fellow officers. The movie is renowned for featuring one of the best car chases in cinema history as McQueen's Mustang car speeds through the rollercoaster streets of San Francisco.

Brad, 43, has been linked with the role since 2003 but the project has only now been given the green light as film bosses desperately try to kick-start as many movies as possible before the Screen Actors Guild begin their anticipated strike action.

Brad can next be seen playing legendary outlaw Jesse James in the western 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford', due out in October.

The base model Mustangs have a 4.6 OHC v8, however, the upper specs (GT500, Saleen, Shelby etc..) have the 4.6, 5.0 or 5.4 DOHC supercharged pumping out 403kw or more, so it is possible.

" 403kw 5.4L Supercharged V8 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, Ford Racing performance exhaust, Performance suspension tuning, Carbon composite Shelby bonnet, 40th Anniversay badging & much more. "

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
