I always thought that a remap ecu was the tight ars way and that a PFC was the best way to go? :)
+1

Too much ignition DVD boys :)

PFC is good, no doubt, but now its getting old and there are a lot better ECUs out there.

As for remaps being tight ass, it goes back to what i said before, all depends who tunes it and what software.

*edit* and 1 of the reasons its cheaper is because it takes way less to tune it because you already have base maps to work with where as PFC u have to do everything from scratch as far as i know....i wouldnt want a noob tuner to set everything up for me from scratch thats for sure

If the pfc is old and out of date does this mean the pfc boost contrloer kit is out of date and i should be looking at a stand alone boost kit witch will have more technology?

I cant comment because i have never seen it or used it, but i would think that a boost controller is a boost controller...there cant be TOO MUCH difference. Just make sure it has a MAP sensor as it will hold boost better :)

Can i just also add that depending on what setup you are going, and really want a after market ECU, i think Haltech is the best bang for buck.

Has a lot of tuning options

Aussie product (therefore lots of support)

Plenty of supporting Hlatech products (map sensors, boost cntr. kits, dashboards etc etc)

Turbs 13 (spelling ?) on here with 32 GTR went from PFC to Haltech and he said he would never go back.

Haltech E11v2 is their top of the range ecu and its around 2G new.

i got a dyno at willall 215kw @ 10psi on the stock turbo and before the rebuild, i dunno how it pulled that number? possibly lean afr's?

bish33 - come along to the dyno day at boostworx like cubes suggested, it should provide an answer to your question here.

A few things the pfc has over the stock ecu.

PFC 20x20 load/rpm map vs the stock ecu's 16x16 load/rpm.

For myself the PFC felt noticeably smoother some how at small throttle openings.

PFC - Well known for its excellent interpolation between load/rpm points. = better fuel economy

The PFC has a dash flash instead of just R&R where it drops back to a 'safe' map that may not be 'safe' under some circumstances.

How an rb30det making 268rwkw manages 450km's per 50litres of fuel daily driving 60km/h stuff with a good tune is a testament to how good the pfc actually is at interpolation and the ability to tune it finer than the stock ecu due to its greater 20x20 load/rpm map.

The PFC has never been a fully fledged ECU; hell even the microtech has more features standard.

There's really little point comparing it to one when they are worth almost 2x the price.

For the usual streeter a PFC is nice on the pocket and returns excellent fuel economy with minimal dyno time.

IMO. :P

all the evidence points towards it being a true reading???

Bish33 this wouldn happen to be the yellow r33 getting around would it? I say this because i always see it in Victor Harbor an thats where your from on your location :( Love the colour of your car dude, Anys i have a black r33 with a few mods an i dont know if you remember but we were down anzac's an we both gave it a bit of squirt (to the speed limit of course) You cained the living shit outta me i have just over 210kw so maybe this dyno read out is true an you have a freak motor, But seriously take it to the dyno day to shut these guys up but f*k me if you run anything under well its going be abit embrassing, Peace out dude an catch up soon insane33.

Simon's rb25det made around 220rwkw on turbo tunes dyno as well. Sounds around the mark.

Yeah i remember that car quite well, So i would say bish33 alot of people are rather jealous of your 220kw with minamal mods, Look at all the other dick heads on here spending huge dollars an getting only 200 its a joke. Well done i say an f*k everyone else.... :(

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
