In need of a quality smash repairer. As the same with most, i am in love with my car, but it also holds alot of sentimental value, which money cannot replace, so i need someone who can give me peace of mind that they know someone who will look after her!

I was recently hit by a massive truck (mack semi, no trailer) he decided to change lanes and hit on the right corner (drivers side) of the rear bar, under the lights. At a quick glance it doesnt look like much, but with the force this guy hit me with the car was thrown into the next lane. Upon inspection i noticed that my rear left wheel is leaning in, and the right wheel looks like it is a bit out of place too. When i drove it, it kinda feels really boat-like, and when driving, while im acccelerating and my foot is on the pedal it feels fine, but when i take it off it feels like its like crab crawling, its strange. and also the hicas is going nutso too! Even though she feels ok, I'm quite hesitant to drive it as this car means everythng to me.

Please, can anyone recommend a quality workshop in melbourne? western suburbs if possible. Thanks!

MiColour in Cheltenham will look after you. Mick isn't back at work until the end of Feb though due to personal reasons but be assured he will look after your car 100%. He won't be the cheapest but I dare say he could quite possibly be the best.

TRANSCAR in (Coolaroo/Cambellfield/Broadmeadows area).

I have used many panel shops before but Transcar is the Best panel shop i have been to.. bar none.

Their quality and service is second to none..

Their attention to detail is astounding and literally no car will leave their shop doors in unsatisfactory condition.

And they also do importing and performance work.

Believe me go there and you won't be dissapointed...

MANY THANKS TO ALL SUGGESTIONS - MUCH APPRECIATED GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Nick, lol funny I seen the guys at Primal a few days ago - they were, yep, AWESOME !!!!!!

After my accident as a starting point I went to another well known workshop down in sunshine, just knowing that I could go in there act all 'um i dont know whats wrong with my car' and this guy would feed me with a bit of info to go off. He tells me that my diff is gone and i need a new one (mind you he only looked at it), just because its leaking, I told the guys at Primal, they just laughed and said the gasket for it costs maybe $40!

As the damage from the accident on the body was minimal (only large mark and some cracks on the back bar) the back wheels were crab crawling and the steering was vibrating a bit, I knew there was bad things going on, they checked out my suspension for me, the side that got hit was out by 2, they adjusted it and gave me details for a suspension place.

Just shows what genuine people they are. I plan to do a fair bit of work to my baby soon, and they will be the ones i will be handing over my money to.

Yeah they are honest guys, which is a nice change in the car game. Also you can see that they know what they are doing by the quality of both their cars, check them out if whe you're in there next. Only thing is that ther workshop is a b!tch to find unless you have someone show you the way.

One thing I would suggest is to get your suspension work done by centreline. The quality of cars in that place speaks volumes for their workmanship.

Hope the car turns out ok!

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
