JBL FTW... love the gear hey.

Running a 900RMS jbl amp to a pair of 400RMS 15"s, and a 6ch will power 6" front splits, 6" 3-way rears, and 6x9's in the tailgate. Gonna be massive, but still run a very decent SQ. Hoping for 145dB at the least, too...

bleeding ears anyone??

in a stagea wagon, with the thick metal/glass giving good acoustics, you dont "need" anymore than 1x 10 or 12" sub woofer, good 4x door speakers and a good deck/amp. Mine is a 7yr old setup out from my old car, less than a grand all up in original costs, and it pumps out more than my ears can take.

and thats from someone addicted to bass

Coz I am a techno junkie from waaaay back. As much as I hate to publicly admit my age, I was going to raves in places like the Midland Railway workshops back before most people on here had left high school (and primary school in some cases *looks meaningfully at Lil Bobby* )

Lemme guess... now you're as jaded as I am? :D

I dunno if your bass addicted (still talking about the audio type), I used to get normal speakers, make shitty filters for em, and put them in the bottoms of buckets firing down... cheap subwoofers ftw!

My first car had 2 15's in the boot and actually flexed the boot lid... it also made 2 women orgasm I am proud to say :D It was a 1979 Gen1 Honda Prelude... The stereo very literally cost more then the car...

Me and my mate sometimes go to his work too and set up their most expensive speakers (they're an audio/lighting company, work for a lot of bands and events) and see how much shit we can shake... that's always fun :D (speakers alone are worth something like $250k)

I made this: (it's a couch)

and of course there is my current car, which i just had to buy a $650, 25kg, 900CCA battery to power everything :)

I have owned god knows how many subs and amps, but most of my left over shit is now installed into friends cars :)

I would consider myself bass addicted :)

Nah, I'm not jaded, I just realised the music kept moving on, and I didn't.

Now I have a pair of daughters that think Carl Cox and John Digweed are The Kingz! LOL!!

Your couch rocks BTW!!

They were sitting on the boot with a bass tester going :D

And I'm sorta the same Rooster, I'm massively over the 'scene' I can't even listen to people talk about raves now without wincing...

Still love the music though, but it's hard to stay up to date when you refuse to go to any events, or have anything to do with the people that go... very hard indeed... I'm also not wasting my money on vinyls anymore...

srsly tho, BASS ftw... I don't know what it is about it, but I just can NOT get enough of it :D

why did i ever mention it... now i have a forum PET name. I should get them to change my sign in.

I'll be pretty happy with my setup. Its mainly cos i work in car audio - #1 people expect you to have a decent setup. #2 i can install it and tune it myself etc. #3 i can get car audio cheap as chips straight from the reps and suppliers so i may as well. What it would cost most ppl for a deck, amp and sub, i get a full car worth of decent gear.

A couple of 15s with speakers to give decent mid and high range iand im happy. Im not a bass addict, but i believe you get a much better sound by getting high quality gear and pushing it to half its potential, than by getting basic gear and maxing it out. Ive taken out a fair few SQ comps over the last few years, and built systems for customers who have done very well. SQ at volume over just bass ANY day.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
