No they don't take photos, you have to be pulled over by those guys. Still.... you were speeding, most likely intentionally by doing 10 so you'd have deserved it.

Wow... the above sentance is what having 1 point left on your Opens does to you :) Granny driving FTW!!!! Keeping it on the track now.

Yeh it sucks when everyone else is going like 10 over and most likely someone else is right on your ass. Have to take the attitude of 'F$ck them, don't care' and just not follow.

How much over did you get done for with the van? As I said you won't be in shit from the other one because they don't take photos.

It ws only on monday in alex hills just shit i was crusing along at 60,

then got one of those boost urges and just rolled on the gas just as it started to hit boost i saw the flash ime hopeing i was allredy far enough along andd it took a photo of the side of the car cause i was right along side it almost when i saw the flash, and it was mighty bright but looked at teh speed after and was doing 80. I do know the speed reads a little low and i was going downhill so will have to wait and see.

Its just as i drove past the high way patrol car tonight i could see a little red lite on the top of it.

Those photo speed traps totally shocked me since moving up here.

I'll be going past a parked van and all of a sudden I'll drive past and see that tiny "Police" logo on the side.

Then I'll be driving down a street, and see a dirty Nissan Patrol with a snorkel and think nothing of it, until once again I spot that logo on the side.

Sydney has none of those cheeky tactics.

Lol. Go easy on the grammar folks. Your one second lectures won't do anything all those years of school failed to do.

You think that's sneaky!? I got done once by a copper standing behind a tree leaning slightly out to the side with the gun. His car was parked just over the crest of the hill so I couldn't see it. He was also catching people going down a hill coming up to his, sneaky bastards. In the time it took him to write my ticket another 5 people were done by his partner.

I heard down in NSW they can't be standing outside of their cars using the gun because someone guy run over and killed.

That could be true, not sure,.... although it's definately been awhile since I've seen a radar outside of the car in NSW.

Well there you go, that's one way to fix your "sneaky" problem. lol

For the record,....I do not condone the running down of law enforcement officers by Queenslanders.

I'm really surprised that all speed camera vans and 4WD's don't go up in flames from angry people coming back. Or atleast get a good trashing. Yes considering I want to be a pig one day I'd rather not get run over

Couple of months ago, a guy attempted to ram a policeman on his bike. Stolen car, and the motorbike policeman was trying to wave him down due to catching him speeding on his radar gun. So the dude just attempted to get rid of the problem by ramming the bike. Policeman got away unhurt, but the bike was a mess. Drove past a few minutes later, and there was bits lying around everywhere.

I find that story funny and distrubing at the same time...

As for camera vans, a few years back when they first came in I was sitting at McDonalds at Windsor/Lutwyche and over the other side of the road was a 100 series landcruiser camera van. Anyways we are watching him take photos of cars and enjoying our feed. He jumps out of the car and locks it and walks over to Mcdonalds to get himself a feed and leaves the car.

About 10 seconds after the policeman went inside the Mcdonalds a bunch of about 6-8 youths came out of the side street and hurled rocks and bricks and spray painted the whole side of the van. They smashed the camera unit up on the dash board with bricks and the flash unit on the front bar and then took off with his "camera in use" sign...

Once again i thought it was funny, but at the same time thought it was a little disturbing...

I know 1 of the local cops here in Gympie loves to hide..

I saw him parked BETWEEN 2 shops the other day on the highway with his speed gun out. The fat bugger was perched behind a new powerpole.

DRIVE SLOW THROUGH THIS TOWN. they will get you...

Dirty, dirty tricks. We also have a beautiful red mazda 6 undercover car!

He will launch it at the lights until he hits 60! then nabs ya! saw him get an SS last week.

those new vans are not as distinctive as the old dirty cruisers are, only seen one so far on Appleby rd.

You said you got stung going down a hill? I remember reading something a while ago that said coppers are not allowed to sight mobile speed traps on declines it might be worth looking into, however you are an idiot for 'needing a moment of boost'.

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
