nah no callcentre work for me - may even get out of the ISP industry - depends on whats out there

my role is technical manager at dodo

i run the team who look after all the servers, routers, networks, infrastructure for dodo

its a team of about 14 guys who run everything 24/7

so things like disk arrays, email severs, database servers, web systems, core networks, dsl broadband network and so on

hey ya'll

after 7 years ill be leaving dodo in 3 weeks - onto new and better things for the greater good!!

i will be having a leaving dodo drinks party some time soon - will let you all know

watch this space for party details

7 years is uber long....move on, get more cash.

GP Friday after work at the BBC is chockers. If the weather is kind, it's a great night out sitting on the lawns.

My hot tip is to go inside to buy your beers and get served within 30secs. Otherwise you queue for 15mins+ at the outside bar with the other sheep.

Strangely I was one of few who realised this. See what the booze does? haha

I might crash your little get together. :)

      As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.

      Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄

      Its also worth mentioning that 30 years after it left the factory and god knows how many missed oil changes since, there is every possibility that one or more lifters are ticking because they are sticky/gummed up. To resolve that you need to pull the cams then pull each lifter, disassemble, clean, reassemble, soak in oil and re-install, and they should come up good as new.
