Hi guys here' the biggest laugh i've had on the track, took the line out to mallala on the 38degree heat and recorded my quickest time on street tyres 1'23".2, subsequently i was warned on the first lap that i was out of the gate too fast??? WTF why do we go to a race track??? then after a certain female evo driver complained to the officials that i was INTIMIDATING her by being behind her on the track (after she wouldn't pull over to the left side of the track) i was warned again for being too fast on the track WTF!!! no kidding i reckon those evo drivers are scared of us line drivers! man after i told the old geriatric official where to get off and i was using street tyres he told me i was going too fast and drifting, mate seems to me the evo boys had it in for me. heres a photo of me between 2 evo's the whinging chick is in front of me.

good work, obviously the evo girl was babying it around, its pretty simple if someone is on your ass and you feel intimidated move out the god damn way!

no shit!, we were briefed before we were able to go out and specifically told if someone is behind you let them pass! she had a little cry to the officials and they kicked me off the track!. if we cant use our cars on the track where the hell can we??

Yeh nice work mate, showed them........

As a person that is out at the track quite often with a few forms of racing, i under stand where they are coming from with the out of the gate issue, Its just common courtisy(and aparently track rules) that you DO NOT go out hell for leather on the first lap bacause of warming up tyres and car up to temp and so forth, with cold tyres and pushing hard can result in cars coming together, At the end of the day these sorts of track days come down to ONE lap time that is your best, and its certainally not gonna be your first. Besides you out there for FUN not racing for sheep stations!!

Glad you enjoyed the day when you wern't gettin reamed in the ass by officials!!

I can understand about warming the tyres up BUT when the track temp was 60 degrees i think that kinda puts that one to bed, but the officials had it in for the only RWD line on the track! no shit ive had it with sport politics! yes it was a fun day but after i gave them my previous lap times of 1'24" they still put me in the slowest group, maybe coz i have a RWD.

Hey Ax,

If had known that was you out there i would have come and said hello, was out there watching my three mates with two GTR's and Pulsar.

I had my 34 out there but did not put it on the track as it is not ready for that stuff as yet, especially with the temperatures of sunday.

Yeh i know what you mean about the temp and all, But rules are rules, and they cant just change it for one day!! was it the normal Officials or was it the EVO/GSR Officials?? See thats the problems with putting you in the slowest group.......... your gonna come up behind the slower cars......... Oh well, not much to be done about it now, maybe just head out to a normal Saturday prac day!!

yeah i spose but they were gunning for me from the start. will be keen on the next coolest prac day.

1.23 is respectable well done.

Who gives a shit about them thinking you were going "too fast" first lap out.

Thats debatable if a F1 car was lapping 1.23 first lap out no one would be saying it was going too fast for it's first lap out.

I must admit that it was hilarious to watch!!!!

Passing three cars like they were standing still going down the main straight was funny.

They never even had a chance. lol

here here if youre gonna play in a mans world play by mans rules! and dont go off crying to the officials that youre being intimidated.

f*k that would give me the shits..

few quick questions

Do i need to be affiliated with any sort of club to go out on these track days?

For the First time can i get a temporary CAMS licence?

How do i find out when these track days are?

these may be 'derr' questions but i dont take much note on these things...looks like fun!

okay 1st be member of the nissan datsun car club sa about $70 a year and sporting car club about $120 a year

2ndly apply for a level 2 speed licence from cams, this will save you paying about $90 every practice day

3rdly put plenty of $$$$$ away for tyres, fuel, parts etc.. and keep cool with the officials, and renmember

DONT GO TOO FAST FOR THE TRACK!!!!!!!

    • Ok guys thank you very much. GCG highflow it is then 🙂
    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
