yeah that was me. i was following my friend, accelerated to speed limit than cruised NOT RACING. i have raced him on private property. With launch beat him by 3.5 car lengths by 3rd gear and taking off normal than planting it i get creamed (once on boost start to catch up but he's way to far in front).

so..

did you actually see that he was a cop or are you just assuming?

maybe it wasn't a cop at all...

100% sure it's a cop, he had a little box in right hand corner and i could just make out the uniform.

the unnecessary acceleration law states that it is up to OFFICER DISCRETION as to whether you were breaking said law... the same is for breaking traction... all you would need is the tiniest noise (which aint hard with FAT tyres :D)

also it is illegal to swear directly at an officer, or make an obscene guesture towards one... i'm sure a few of you will remember the debacle a few years ago when that guy stuck his finger up at a speed camera (when they were run by cops) and got snapped and niel mitchel (i think) paid the $1000 fine for him... then the cops kicked up a fuss but there was technically no law against "gifting" $1k and him paying the fine....

I was under the impression that a police officer has to either be wearing a badge, uniform or hat or driving a marked police car or show me identification before i have to legally acknowledge them as law enforcement officers until then their just another bogan in a commonwhore who will get the middle finger.

Here Here,

BTW Coppers driving Falcons are excempt from said act as we pity you. :D

yeah but you cant be 100% because you didnt actually see him..if the tint was blacker than black

might have been a security guard or something who knows.

assumption is the mother of all bollocksups

if im in my crap car n see one of these cops around ill follow them with my cammra and film them all day, im sure they will be pissed off but hey i dont work much so i could spend a day to try n put a nice "hoon" movie together staring UNDER COVER cops for ppl on youtube.. :D one day

Damn fine idea...!! even more so if you had a mate in the back seat operating a camera, Then play the coppa at his own game...Inch the car forward as the lights are about to change, rev the engine like you are about to gun it...lights go green you just sit there, hopefully he will be stupid enough to break traction off the line..Your mate gets it all on camera....Bam..get that coppa fined for reckless driving..Undisputable evidence

So all people with in car camera mounts should have a camera on play everytime you are crusin around town. Similiar to the cop cars have when they pull ya over?

well easier said than done, but if recorded from the video recorder of a mobile phone and then transferred to disk or something...much more possible.

you could that. but in the end he will find out who u r, cops always take extra care of their own. word by mouth gets around of who F'ed him up and every cop will go out of thier way to hassle u. would be nice but not worth it.

    • You know how your car rolled through a fence in your last jacking escapade? Scissor jacks increase the likely hood of that sort of thing happening immensely!
    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
