V35 Cd/radio Player

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im from Sydney and is a proud owner of a V35 300GT but the freaking CD player doesnt work.

Does any1 know if the CD/Cassette player can be fixed and by whom?

If not does any1 know where i can source one from? second hand would be perfable and done in a budget. dont want to be shelling out $500+

My player has never worked from day-dot of me buyin the car.

Whenever i turn on the car the cd player just clicks until it stops (about 5-6 times)

Ive turned a blind eye and have been using the IPOD FM transmitter but i think i really would like to have it fixed.

if any1 can help that be great.

Thanks,

Joey.

Exactly, if it's not the Bose upgrade it's not really worth to keep, better getting an aftermarket unit than getting someone to spend time trying to fix the standard one.

yes they can be fixed. it will take a fair bit more than $500 to do it. (about $850.). other option is to put an aftemarket unit in it with the 2DIN radio panel swapped in. one issue you will have (if you fixed it) is the nav. it routes audio via the drivers door. TV and AUX audio are also affected. so what ever you use needs to have an AUX in.

Hey guys and thanks for the reply.

The reason I was asking was because I saw a complete cd/radio unit on sale on ebay (seller located in usa) for $350USD + shipping.

I didnt know the double din panel existed. where do i source one? would it affect the rest of the dash (eg. climate control etc etc) as the whole thing is intergrated isnt it?

Has any1 done it and do they have pics?

Thanks again

Joey

and oohhhh id import the car from japan and i wasnt told of the damaged cd player

panel can be bought from me. need panel, AC controls (dual or single zone btw- button on dash will tell you.) and the interface if bose.

clairfy that and I'll arrange one for you.

the US radio fixes the FM channel problem but creates another - AM band is out a bit so it doesn't work.

  • 2 weeks later...

Jap Link motors tell me that they can repair the CD player for $250 which includes removing the unit from the car, replacing the failed mechanism and re-installing it. Chris, I understand that you believe that the cost should be alot more. Can you suggest what the difference in price could be attributable to?

I have a 300GT with the exact same problem, mine has about 4 discs inside & just makes those mech noises about 5 time then does nothing! will not play or eject :)

Let me know if you have anly luck with the repair.

I intend to crack mine open & take a look at it some time.... Just a bit busy at the moment. Will post the results here, if it turns out to be something simple.

from me. the whole exercise is NOT cheap. the screen will still work as normal and if you buy a DVD based unit I can put the video on that screen. one thing to keep in mind ,if you want the TV/AUX audio to still work you will need a unit with an AUX in.
