Not sure if it has been mentioned already but it would be good if their was some kind of indication on the car if the actual owner of the car is driving, maybe some kind of colour sticker system on the windscreen.

The MX5 could be. You have read the posts.

Open cars will be doing around the 12's, clubsprint cars around the 18's I guess.

Interesting idea about the stickers, but may I ask why??

I think JP is thinking with his head and not his heart. Of course he wants to drive himself, but he wants the best for his business. Gives him more time to walk around the pits and answer questions about his toy.

I fail to see what you driving his car would do for his business....you could bolt pram wheels on a turd and make it go fast. I think he could do more for his business as a whole by keeping it 'in house' and driving it himself.

Doesn't look like many people are brave enough to drive their own cars. Gary is. Steve is. Kev Whitehead is. Mark and Russ is (are?). thats the only ones I know who are.

No, no, no ,no. Before all this Time Attack big city lights stuff, John has been running track days through his business since i think 2000, possibly earlier, My first few track days were UAS days and i suspect the choice to run these days were not always fiscally smart ;)

So he has given many customers and Sydney guys friendly and open doors to getting into track days. Now he doesnt need me defending him, but i suspect handing over the keys will be hard for the old bloke. But he is running a business, and if a driver can get him a few spots up the board then its all exposure and results for the car that he has been playing with for years, and his business then its a smart decision.

That all said i cant believe that UAS cannot get its hands on another car for John to compete in? Hell, maybe i need to give John the keys to my car...just so he can marvel at RB20 POWAH!!!!

John will not need to bring his own loo paper to the event....plenty on here willing to lick his arse.

footage of john getting out of the car at wakefield looking like he'd singlehandedly driven the Spa 24hr, getting his pit bummy boys to fan him down was some of the most amusing stuff ive ever seen.

this thread was getting rather dull so close to the event...i think it needed a kick in the pants with a bit of "smack talk"

      That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.

      Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers

      The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
