Hey mate ill add your name to the list, i have been hounding speed hut for 2 weeks now to get the Stagea up on their 'getting number' board so we can get some deposits taken down etc... but they are dragging their feet

I have sent another email

Don't know about buying them all outright as the dollar is a bit crappy now and they will be a bit more expensive than when we first looked which is a pain, but unavoidable... So if you feel like buying them up and selling them on ebay feel free

FINALLY!!!

Hey Guys,

Finally speed hut has taken a photo of the guage clusters etc and have got a build list up on their site! i have already put my order in and i would please ask that all of you who have signed up for a set do the same because the soon we start ordering the sooner we will get the required people and get them built!

http://www.speedhut.com/15orders_el_detail-auto_number-109.htm

Follow this link to the page, please note that by ordering the units you are only charged $1 at the time of order, the total amount is taken from your CC when the required number of orders is filled.... The important thing here is TELL EVERYONE!! get people signed up, go onto every stagea/nissan forum you can find and get people interested, word of mouth is the only thing thats going to get the required numbers.

I have been dealing directly with Aaron the owner of speed hut, so if you have any questions or require more information let me know.

Bad news for us is that the Aussie dollar has suffered a bit of late making these a bit more expensive than previously thought... but nothing we can do about that

Cheers all

So, besides colouring etc, the basic layout of the dials will be identical, including where the km/h and x1000/rpm text is on the factory guages?

Will it be possible to get the kit without the console dials?

Hey mate, yeah it is possible to get the kit without the consol dials, but when i asked the guy about them to start with he said he would do them included in the price... its up to you

essentially they way it works is the tooling for the layout is just the shapes that need to be cut out, anything on the face can be changed, including having a MPH dial in the middle or just a KPH or MPH, a logo, Text, anything u want really. It does cost a bit extra though for putting a customised logo tho

cheers

will they charge extra for those of us with an RS4s who need a battery gauge in the middle of the small ones? and how bout getting the boost gauge to show psi?

D.

Hey mate, nah they shouldn't charge extra all you will need to do is send them a scan of your current gauges, like i said earlier the tooling is the difficult part, as in what they use to cut out and manufacutre the EL sheet, the printing is the easy bit, you can have ur gauges measure coolness or sickasbro..nes if you'd like :D And if you want it to mesure PSI be aware that the guage is set and programed to measure bar... so you would need to design the template accurately so you get the correct measure... ei. 1bar = 14.7psi etc etc

I don't mind doing the design work for anyone as i am pretty handy with photoshop/illustrator/indesign etc, so if you send me you scans i can make something up.

Coool?

yeh that's what i thought.... i dont have the patience/brain for those sort of things. anyone else keen? :D

i have to pull the console apart to change the hd soon so i guess ill take some pics then.

as usual with these sorts of things... lots of interest to start off with then when people are asked to commit the crowd goes silent... shame but thats the way of things

i'm still keen, just haven't pulled my dash apart to take photos of my gauges yet...

D.

If you sign up only $1 dollar is deducted from your CC, then when (more like if) the number reaches 25 then pull appart your dash etc. The sooner we can get these number up the more likely other people will commit. Its like walking into an empty pub... u'd rather there be a few peeps in there first before you go in.

Cheers

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
