gazal yours looks like a ticket to a dance party hehe :D

dont u see, SAU IS a dance party, we listen to music in the car, we do lame dances in front of our car (well i do...) and we check out other cars while trying to look our coolest.... and everyones invited!1!!!!!111@!...

this is the way to go guys, vector image will give much less headaches... stay away from imagery unless you have a 100mb+ version... unfortunately its a lot of hard work with the pen tool;)

This is why these competitions don't get great results, nobody (professionals) want to spend hours on something their not sure is going to be used when they could be doing the same thing and getting paid... and no offence to the other guys that have had a go but something this big has major technical considerations...

That said Rekin has put quite a few hours in his illustration and I think its on the money... throw some type on there and she's done IMHO

Agreed with you mate - sadly to properly vectorize a photo of a car and get it to look realistic, takes far longer to pull off than what most people can spare...

These 2 were done in at uni, - the Rx7 took an on and off period of 6 months (engine bay was a KILLER)... the lambo slightly less because it was simpler, but still 2 months plus... if we're to get a realistic looking car, we have to make do with what imagery we can find... thankfully CS3 photoshop has a new method of enlargement that has impressed me so far... Youd wanna start with at least a very large wallpaper sized image though... either that or a file sourced straight from the digital camera... the likes of which would be very hard to come by I think.

Thanks for the insight boys :)

Something i really wouldnt know, nor most of the committee about such things.

Last thing we want it a crapola banner once its blown up.

Would the quality 'really' be that bad?

Have people seen the current thing we use?

Basically, if the source image is decent enough to start with, it will blow up fine. It wont be super crystal clear, but enough to look good from viewing distance...

Here's my 2nd attempt the top image is the one i posted ealier not sure which one..??? I also forgot to give credit to scotty014 for using his photo...

You really shouldn't be taking credit for a photo when all you did was post it up...Nikora took the photo.

id also like to add that id never ever take credit for someone elses photo, because seriously what would i get out of it absolutley nothing. i just like to collect pics, i do take some photos hear and there but im no photographer, all i did was put up some pics that looked really good to give people some good ideas on what to have on the SAU banner.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
