looks ok... if not a lil dodgy. Does the power warrant the width of the wheels....? Or is it just for the looks?

Vote for more pics of the cedric.

its looks

its a 225/40 tire on a 10 inch wide wheel lol

sheesh you two have a history or something...?

iwouldnt mind running 9's all round on mine but not at the expense of doing that to my guard....

im THAT guy that does the stupid shit like make a stagea RWD just to drift

put rediculous sized wheels

etc etc etc

oh all that sacreligious stuff eh? hey man i reckon drifting a stagea would be excellent... isnt Unique1's car a RWD now? (he was prbably under a different username alst time you were on here).

225 on a 10" wheel... you hang out with the bosozoku boys much?

Welcome to AustFAILia yokotas13... imagine Florida but without the good bits

SAU is pretty much the worst afflicted of all Australian forums but most are similar.

On this forum there are a few rules

NO STRETCH

NO GUARD (fender) ROLLING

NO SUB-OBTIMAL SUSPENSION GEOMETRY

NO STIFF SPRINGS

NO SPACERS

NO FUN

Basically this forum is the youngest batch of old men you will ever meet. They will modify their cars for only performance but label anyone who attempts to use that peformance an irresponsible idiot.

As far as wheel fitment goes. In Australia toilets have half-flush (to save water) and when people here talk about flushness. They get confused by their toilet.

Unfortunately the only people less interested in fun than SAU are the Australian Police, so there is some justification for their boringness.

If bullshit was music, you pair of yanks would rate as a 63 piece fcuking orchestra.

You are currently in a country that has the most imbecillic attitude towards automotive safety than any other, you originate from the nation that has without a doubt the biggest reputation for the most badly designed, evil handling pieces of crap ever to grace tarmac, and yet you come on to an AUSTRALIAN forum to tell us what is appropriate for our cars and our roads?

Hubris much?

You make a down syndrome epileptic with severe autism look intelligent you complete and utter assclown

wait

lets not generalize here

I knwo guys in australia, on here and other ofurms, doing the same thing i do on my cars, on cimas, silvias, skylines etc etc etc with no problems in australia

and american cars are shit, except for a few of hte newer ones that are catering to the driver more. (saturn turbo vert is sex)

regardless, its only hte stag forum that is anal on wheels being 2 inches inside the fenders i like the forum, i learn shit randomly

Also from this thread you will have witnessed the casual Australian attitude and willingness to laugh at ourselves.

Apologies... old women too :(

It isn't that bad, as you can see by my join date and post count I have been here and enjoyed it a long time. But judging by the reaction I think people here take themselves a little too seriously. I am back in Australia now and it is amazing how uptight Aussies are, quite contrary to our international reputation.

you guys need to chillax. Its personal preferance. Whats the point of having 30 ppl with the same car following the same set of rules? Otherwise why mod? Show some individualism... half of us have a stagea simply cos its something different - thats the main reason i got one.

Go for it yokotas, it looks pretty cool. Wouldnt do it to mine, but thats just me. If i thought i could get away with it, maybe. (i was looking at flared guards just earlier haha).

Laurence? go eat a d1ck. I bought the car to drive it. Not butcher it. I doubt that every single mod thats gonna end up on my car will be 100% legal, but im not going to flaunt the ones that arent. We all have different balues and tastes. Obviously we dont share yours... one day you might just have to accept that and err you know... get over it.

Ahaha they took you hook line and sinker mate.

Each to his own hey.. Grant likes fitment, others like legal. Telling people to eat dicks all day long isn't going to get anyone anywhere. There's too many fags in this country as it is...

I like your new wheels Grant.

you offically suck.........

because you didnt put "cefiro" in that list. lol

im running 18x10+11 on pumped cefiro guards which is no mean feat. but then again im a kiwi. hehehe.

carry on..........

I think it all boils down to " form over function " - Grant might prefer going for a certain look despite the fact it means mods that some of us would rather do without ( like very limited suspension travel etc )

while others dont really GAF what things look like just as long as they do the job that was intended.

Personally I am not a fan of strectched tyres.. but what ever cranks your handle you know?

the thing is I wonder around a track what would go better.. a car like Grants or a stag with a bit of suspension mods and running standard wheels and tyres..

and .. remember the analogy between arguing on the internet and mental retardation everyone..

i can call that one!

ME

mainly becuase this car is a missle

what is a missle you ask?

missle- A car i dont care about becuase its an extra so i am taking it to the track and not giving a rats ass if it gets smashed

so yeah, im gonna say i will be faster

i gotta say i didnt think much of your attitude in the beginning Grant, but u seem alright, i can understand u are going for the vip look and i love it, i think the wheels are abit extreme width wise and sticking out the gaurds but thats your choice and definately looks better than the usual 18x7' +40 on most stageas i see (including my own lol) so good on ya.

I dont like those style of rims at all, i much prefered the Work Emotion xd9's u had before. Can u post some more pics of them on the car, preferably a good sized set of pics so i can see the fitment. Im looking at work emotion cr kai at moment or rays re30s or something similiar and looking for the most aggressive offsets i can without sticking out the gaurds too much

Also whoever said my car is rwd only is incorrect its 4wd but i often remove the front shaft for fun and am gonna leave it rwd now for a while until i decide on what gearbox i wanna upgrade too.

good luck Grant i wanna see pics of the ground clearance under the car as well if u can, i doubt u have much hehe :)

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
