I was at my GF mother's place picking up her son, when we heard her dogs going bonkers!

I peak out the window and see two punks hanging around my Stag parked out on the street. One looked like he was trying to open the door, while the other was watching the house.

I stepped out the front door and (in not so nice words) told the punks to move on or I'll wrap their mountain bikes around their heads.

I don't rely on the cops (they're too busy robbing us of our wallets), so if I catch anyone trying to get into my car, I'll just give them some free accommodation in a hospital. Done it before, I'll do it again. I love my toys and unless I invite you around to play, stay the f*ck away. :laughing-smiley-014:

i always try and remember to park my car in the garage overnight, been broken into once before in the driveway which really pissed me off but luckily no damage done somehow...i keep a baseball bat near my bed just in case and have for awhile but haven't had to use it yet... :P

yeah, i know. at first my alarm had been going off for no reason a couple of times but when it initially went off i thought it was just having another hissy fit but cos i left it out in the driveway i figured i should take a look. when i looked outside i could see my interior light on and the passenger door open and thought F**K, musta just missed 'em so i grabbed my bat and went out into the street but couldn't see ne1, it was like 3am aswell. all they took was a bag of shrapnel i use to keep in my car but i had like $60sumfn in there, lil bastards :P

another import getting broken into or stolen....man i swear some people just love ruining other peoples pride and joy and let them have a f**ked up week/weekend.....and i agree with rubyrs4 if you catch them make sure that they find a nice accomodation in a busy hospital....

i am pretty sure they are not all that smart if they are trying to break into someone's car and the alarm is going off.....do it in a discreat way.....yellow pages or white pages comes in handy

seriously though, think about how angry you'd be catching someone break into your pride and joy, would you be able to not beat on them too hard? personally i think i might get them at least once too hard like knocking 'em out (whoops) but then you'd realise...ok, i think they've had enough

make sure you get someone to make a video of it on a fone or something and then you can put it on youtube, the title could be something like this is what happens to imported car thieves in SA.

i'd be careful with bashing 'em though, they could sue you if they're smart enough!

This is how thick some are:

The last bastard I caught years ago, I gave him a swift kick into the ribs and dropped him quick. When I busted this fool trying to steal my motorbike, he first started to run but turned around holding the screw driver as a weapon, that now gives me the 'self defence' excuse. Stupid numb nuts tried stealing my bike in front of the dojo I trained at, and while I approached him in my karate gi wearing black belt and all. Stupid, real stupid. If that doesn't ring any alarm bells for them, then they should be removed from the gene pool. Like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

They can't sue you if they're commiting the crime, and especially when you do not use 'excessive' force. The police weighed in that his screw driver had the potential to do more damage, than my kick to his ribs. I can guarantee you this little prick isn't stealing any bikes/cars today. :laughing-smiley-014:

I've had my share of stupid encounters on the street, and the cops really don't give a rats arse ... especially when you can have your 'self defence' story. They're seen as the crim in the first place, all you gotta do is make yourself look more like a Saint.

lol nice to hear another fellow black belt mate making use of the brutal kick....nice one rubyrs4.....thats sort of what i have done in the past.....pfft screw drivers dont do anything when you master your skills.....

Yeah, had the mother of the stupid kid wanting the cops to charge me for using such "violence on the street". Until the cops said "Lady, it was your son with the weapon. He took his chances in front of a karate school and lost" Dumbass! :laughing-smiley-014:

Its not just protecting my property. Where most people will cower away and 'mind their own business', I won't stand for this shit or destruction of property, abuse or stealing if I'm around. I guess I have more confidence doing what I do. Anyone getting assaulted for no reason, I'll step in and set it straight. Some punk breaking into a car not mine, I'll sort him out too. :)

What pricks... it's about time skyline/stag owners hit back at em. Who wants to put our bait car idea back into action? :D

Yeah a bait car with remote kill switch, remote locking doors and poisonous gas

We can stand at the windows and wave to them as they take their last breaths :)

I quite like the blowtorch idea actually :D

    • Have a look at that (shitty) pic I posted. You can see AN -4 braided line coming to a -4 to 1/8 BSPT adapter, into a 1/8 BSPT T piece. The Haltech pressure sender is screwed into the long arm of the sender and factory sender (pre your pic) into the T side. You can also see the cable tie holding the whole contraption in place. Is it better than mounting the sender direct to your engine fitting......yes because it removes that vibration as the engine revs out 50 times every lap and that factory sender is pretty big. Is it necessary for you......well I've got no idea, I just don't like something important failing twice so over-engineer it to the moon!
    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
