Just thought id add some info as i know the owner who first bought this car (my friend ordered the wheels from jap and paide $1500ea)

The car was imported to be the test vehicle to comply under the new raws system. There for it means the vehicle is not aloud to be in an accident, must not have any rust on it and basically be in immaculate condition. This was a year and half ago (maybe abit longer). Then it was easy one of the cleanest examples i had seen.

h.

Thanks RNS11Z i didn't know that but there you go.

Davidj76 - The gear box and diffs are smooth and not clunky like some of the one out the but it is a 94 model car so it's like its going to be brand new.

Not too sure about the oil, the last service was done be Amberly Autos/Horse Power Factory so hoping they used the good stuff.

RE Customs did a pressure test and said that it was really good for an RB26 not sure on the numbers though.

I haven't had any of the other done but i know how fussy the Horse Power Factory is and they would have told me if things needed to be changed.

Cheers

Guys - be wary dealing with this guy.

I'm located in Sydney and was interested in the car. I rang him beforehand, discussed details and price, and everything seemed fine.

I told him I was interested, and paid him a deposit to hold the car until I was able to drive down and visually inspect it.

A thousand kilometers of driving later, I arrive in Melbourne on a Friday afternoon to be told by him that the car wasn't available and was at the mechanics. A little concerning to say the least. I then find that additional mechanical work has been done, and that the price has increased $550 for a new coil. We agree to split the difference but am advised I'm unable to view the car until around 7pm - just when it gets dark. Wonderful.

Still interested, I turn up to find the car in what I would call 'average' condition. All four tyres are roadworthy, but only just, and would need replacing almost immediately. Chalk up another $1000 to be spent shortly.

Other items requiring attention that aren't mentioned - air conditioning not working. He advised it needed a regas but didn't say why it had lost gas in the first place (worst case scenario repair/regas/new gas conversion - possible additional $1000).

Also, on a minor note, the drivers seat appeared to be twisted/broken, and a few small electrical components didn't appear to be working (interior light/stereo badly distorted).

I advised him that I was still interested, but needed to estimate the possible additional costs and get the car inspected by an independent mechanic the next day. He says that's cool and I advise I'll contact him tomorrow. I sms him later that night to advise of inspection details and he replies and says that's cool.

Saturday morning I get a second sms advising that he didn't realise it was Saturday, had to work that day, and that the car wasn't available. I couldn't believe it! I drive all the way from Sydney after a week of organising things, and the freaking cars' not available to be inspected??? I try to contact him via phone a number of times, but it goes straight to voicemail. I leave a message, and send an sms asking him to contact me as I'm running out of time and need to begin the return to Sydney the next morning.

No response. Also no response when I try to contact him again that afternoon.

At this stage, I'm pretty freaking angry. I've driven all the way down to Melbourne for nine hours with my girlfriend, spent $250 on fuel, had to arrange for accommodation while I'm down there - and that's not even taking into account the return trip, or the cost of security checks on the vehicle VIN (another $35).

Eventually I get real angry, and ring his home number. I only manage to speak to his sister, who advises me he's not available and in the shower. I tell her to let him know that if I don't hear from him shortly I'll start ringing every half an hour. She says she'll let him know - all the time talking to a voice in the background.

Ten minutes later I get an sms advising that he's received a higher offer from another buyer, and won't be selling the car to me.

I take the long drive back to Sydney - extremely disappointed, and having been taken for a very different ride from the one I expected.

Guys like this piss me off. He's been trying to sell the car for months, and when he finally gets a serious buyer he f**ks them around. Not a cool thing to do when they're travelling from interstate. Not only that, to add insult to injury, I notice that the car remains for sale - with an increased pricetag that I would have gladly paid - if only he'd told me what he wanted at the time - instead of being gutless and lying to me.

You don't know how tempted I was to send around a few friends to test drive his 're-advertised' car - right into a ditch.

Instead, I'm gonna do the right thing, and concentrate on finding my dream car, but I severely hope the little f**ker gets what coming to him. He's not a true Skyline enthusiast, because we should be sharing our common interest, not f**king each other over...

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
