hey guys,

just heard about this from cejay. i went to the last one and had fun, and im interested in this one.

i came in late so i havent read the whole thread.

at the last one there was talk that because we didnt get the motorkhana on the dry track, that we would recieve a discount on the next texikhana. im just wondering if this still stands, if so whats the price?

if so im definately in, altho i will have to pay on the day. altho looking at the numbers there isnt a shortage of spots

without a discount im not too sure. money is pretty tight at the mo, as i only just got back from QLD for super drift, and im getting ready to go down to mallala for superdrift at the end of the month.

altho it would be good to get a bit of a shakedown to make sure thigns are sweet with the car.

unfortunately the discount doesn't apply because of the dry skidpans being more expensive.

Price is $100 for NSW members and $130 for Non members. You can pay on the day as well as join up for membership.

I'll turn up and decide on the day...
Are entrants allowed on the day?

Ok, I will allow people to sign up on on the day. The catch will be you have to be there at 7.45am (15mins early) to fill in the paperwork and ready for scrutineering & the drivers briefing at 8.45 on the dot. (Everyone MUST attend the drivers briefing)

Anyone who wants to enter on the day and turns up late will have to wait as priority are the people who have already entered all their paperwork.

i know we're hitting up the wet skid pan but as for the other part are we going on the the road course or the where they do the motorbike training?

This year we will have the dry skidpans.

The event should actually be the motorbike motorkhana area and the back track, unless the road read people decide they want it again like last time. We shouldn't be using the wet skidpan.
I'll have to double check about signing up on the day guys, but as far as the day goes, its back track and the larger skid pan which is dry.

:/

31 #1!!!

it looks a bit different compared to last time, and packs a bit more punch too.

i reckon i'll give some of you guys a real run.... if i can resist the temptation to stay sideways that is lol

Yeh, wet skid pan was kinda boring....

Actually, I do have another issue.

I have paid for my CAMS club membership, but I am yet to receive my New Card or sticker with the new expiry date. Is this going to be a problem?

Quick question... Is anyone going on the dry skidpan with semi slicks on?

I know that there are a lot of handbrake turns needed but the problem will be that I have a nice new set of semi slicks that I have just finished bedding in and I dont really want to shred them in one day. :P

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
